If you got given 3k unexpectedly

Not via an inheritance or stolen or by any dodgy means Grin
Through back pay you weren't expecting.
What would you do with it?
Spend it on yourself? On what?
Spend it on the family?
Save it?
Pay off your 3k credit card?
Or something else??

Credit card in your position 🙈 but I'm boring and sensible

Wildorchidz · 14/08/2019 16:51

Credit card.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 14/08/2019 16:52

Definitely credit card

ButterflyOne1 · 14/08/2019 16:52

If you have debt which isn't interest free then repay it first.

MyDcAreMarvel · 14/08/2019 16:52

Mortgage overpayment.

Pipandmum · 14/08/2019 16:53

School fees! Wondering how I’m going to come up with them next term as just paid taxes and annual insurance bill.

Alloftit · 14/08/2019 16:53

Pay off CC debt. You’d be daft not to.

Hoghgyni · 14/08/2019 16:54

Add it to the savings pit, but as it was unexpected, I would probably do something higher risk than pop it in the bank and buy some shares instead. Alternatively I would bung it in my pension.

Drabarni · 14/08/2019 16:54

I'd buy some clothes, give a bit to kids, and treat myself. But I have no debts.
If I did the debt would have to go as I hate owing people.

Floralnomad · 14/08/2019 16:54

If I had debt then I’d use it for that , if I didn’t I’d probably put it towards the soffits/ facias on the house .

sunnysunchild · 14/08/2019 16:55

CC is managable and interest free..

If I had a £3k credit card balance I would pay that off. If I didn’t I would have my big reception room redecorated with a new carpet and put whatever was left (expect it would be £1k ish) towards a holiday.

IncrediblySadToo · 14/08/2019 16:56

If you have a credit card balance then I’d pay that off - you can always use it again 🤣

I’ve just spent that on coming to my favourite place in the world (only in Ftance, but it was all a last minute booking so it was all expensive!) but I don’t regret it one bit. However if I’d been sensible I wouldn’t have come and I’d have put it towards the house renovations, but you know 🤷🏻‍♀️That won’t mske me happy today or on my death bed!! 🤣

NoSquirrels · 14/08/2019 16:57

Will you be able to pay off the 0% card before the rate ends?

If so, I’d book a holiday and spend some on carpets/sofas.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 14/08/2019 16:57

I’d still pay off my debt even if it was manageable.
I’d then start saving instead of paying the debt.

heymammy · 14/08/2019 16:58

I'd put it towards a new bathroom, no frills just a re-tile, replace suite and new vinyl floor. Don't have any credit to pay off and the school holidays are finished, or else I would have taken the kids abroad with it!

Jade218 · 14/08/2019 17:31

A small credit card and a shopping spree! Probably treat myself to a new handbag

MrsElizabethShelby · 14/08/2019 17:33

Pay off your credit card.

LittleAndOften · 14/08/2019 17:34

Reduce your debt, every time.

Loopytiles · 14/08/2019 17:34

Do you have any savings? If not, would bank the lot until had paid off the interest free credit card. Then keep in the bank as savings.

Loopytiles · 14/08/2019 17:36

If already had adequate savings, would keep til credit card debt paid off, then spend on things for the family, eg home improvements, car repairs, holiday.

Nacreous · 14/08/2019 17:36

If I had money on a CC I would pay it off.

I don't have money on a CC so I would probably use it to get new internal doors and the rest on a holiday maybe?

Grumpbum123 · 14/08/2019 17:37

Pay off next account

3luckystars · 14/08/2019 17:39

Spend a little, save a little and have fun with a little.

1000 credit card
1000 saved (a notice account that can't be touched)
1000 do something lovely, you earned the money.

Good luck.

Boots20 · 14/08/2019 17:39

I'd book a holiday but I'm not great with money 😂
