I visited Shrewsbury Prison the other day and was checking something the ex prison warden said as I'm not sure I believe him. So I typed in "does hanging cause" waiting to see if it came up with (immediate) miscarriage as the ex warden claimed and the attached was the first suggestion. Wtf is wrong with the world that this is the first thing that comes up. I feel so sorry for the younger generations that are exposed to these things via the Internet. I'm in my 40s and never would have connected the two events and who in their right mind would?

Have you really never heard of auto erotic asphyxiation? There have been several deaths of high profile people from it over the years.

The ex prison officer claimed that hanging caused immediate miscarriage if pregnant women hadn't declared themselves pregnant and were therefore still sent to the gallows. As per my op I doubted his claim. He seemed to relish the thought of it and I've actually complained about his manner during the tour. Who wants a blatant sexist, misogynistic and generally inappropriate tour guide.

Apparently if female prisoners were pregnant they were allowed to keep their baby until they reached the age of 5 when they were sent to the workhouse and the woman was sent to the gallows. Fucking awful. Corrupt officers would make a deal with women to get them pregnant so that they could postpone their death. In this case the woman was allowed to keep the baby until they were 18 months old then they were taken off them and the woman executed. It's hard to believe that this happened in our fairly recent history.

It's probably people search for as proudpeacock said auto erotic asphixiation. It's not much better but "self strangling from a door knob" is marginally an improvement from "hanging to death".

There is a lot of very very unpleasant stuff on the internet of which that autocomplete is extremely mild I'm sorry to say.

The ejaculation thing I have heard before. I suspect it’s a myth. It can cause death however.

Seriously your question was so weird I can't see why you would be upset by anything else on google. Yes punishment years gone by was vile, and still is in some countries, but how you think that the other suggestions which google bought up are any worse than your own question. Such a strange post.

To be honest if you actually go to Google and type in anything to do with hanging, you’re taking a risk that you’ll see something you don’t want to. I don’t think you can complain about that, you should’ve known.

It may seem weird to you but stems from my visit to the prison and what the guide was telling us so I was merely looking for more information.
I didn't link auto erotic stuff because I was not thinking about sexual thrills but capital punishment. Strangulation for kicks is different to hanging by executioner.

If someone is searching for the first part of that sentence anyway then they surely can't be in good state of mind? This seems a pointless post tbh. People have access to far worse than that I should think. It's a sad world we live in.

Ah - this takes me back to a very awkward English Lit class when a male teacher was explaining the possible connotations in the line in Shakespeare's Macbeth - "Here's a farmer that hang'd himself on the expectation of plenty"!

Read a guardian article posted on here about an increasing trend in men now choking women during sex and it featuring in mainstream porn. There was also a link about an increase men who used "sex game gone wrong" as a defence for killing women. Both were frighting articles and iirc the amount of women who'd used sex game gone wrong as a defence for killing their partner was 0.
