When was the last time you cleaned your oven?

Please be honest, make me feel better. Mine must be about 6 months....

Ours was about 4 months ago but we wipe the job everytime we cook

My parents once had theirs for 8 years and never did it

Anyway it broke down so they bought a new one

My father walked in to find my mother cleaning inside it

‘What are you doing?’ He asks

‘Cleaning the oven’ she replies

‘But it’s going to the tip tomorrow!’

‘Yes but we don’t want them to think we’re mucky do we?’

Logic at its best right there...

A few months ago, and it broke the next day so that was a waste of time and effort.

Not 100% sure but think it might have been May? Purely because I spilled some macaroni cheese in it lol

Used to be whenever there was a persistent smell of burning pepperoni everytime we used it, because of the bits of pizza baked into the bottom. I am much better at it now, though. Because we got a new oven so I don't have to laser the burnt food off.

This is the first night I have had alone in 6 years. My son has ASD and my oven has always been last on my list! But he isn’t here tonight so wait for the transformation🙈

@Poota the foil has gone! I have a 90s playlist on and fuck me I’m actually enjoying this now! The first night in ages I have had to get a good night’s sleep and yet here I am 😭

Thanks to this thread I actually remembered it needed doing. It’s weird when everything is left to you, the things that get overlooked when keeping on top of the washing is your idea of a successful day

How do you clean an oven?

I do ours roughly monthly, I also do the fridge and microwave at the same time. Get some music on loud and away I go. I then blitz the worktops so my kitchen is showroom tidy. Love doing it.

I’m 51 years old, I’ve lived with a fair few ovens in my life and I didn’t clean any of them.

It's being done on Saturday. I pay someone to do it and it's well worth the £20!!

I wipe it out very so often but because I don't cook meat in it (except Xmas roast) it's not actually that grubby. I've been meaning to give it a good clean though.

I’ve bought some silicone liners for the bottom they can be washed easily. I’m very good now I live alone doesn’t get dirty. When I had all the kids at less often.
