Who would do something like this? Scary.

Yes that is what I saw the woman who said he followed her it is just so sinister.

Rivkka · 04/08/2019 21:48

Just awful.

bluegirlgreen · 04/08/2019 21:48

Eeeeeek how horrible!

The lad is still alive I think. Praying he recovers.

WTAF did this 17 y.o. do this for???

Jinglejanglefish · 04/08/2019 21:50

Jesus. I am never going to be able to let go of DD when we're out

Schuyler · 04/08/2019 21:51

How hideous but fortunately, these incidents are exceptionally rare. Obviously that’s no consultation to the family of this poor young boy.

MsTSwift · 04/08/2019 21:51

A work colleague committed suicide there in 2007. So sad he was only 27.

Supersimpkin · 04/08/2019 21:58

Like millions of others, I've been on that balcony. The glass front is very low.

macaroniandpizza · 04/08/2019 22:01

How utterly utterly horrifying for the mother to have this happen to her son and also for the people around to have to see it happen. I hope and pray the wee boy makes it 🤞

origamiunicorn · 04/08/2019 22:04

Apparently on the TV earlier a mother was saying that she'd noticed the teenager following her and her child earlier in the afternoon. Chilling.

Yikes, that makes it sound really premeditated rather than a switch flipping or something going wrong in his head.

I mean there's obviously something wrong, but you know what I mean.

Wheresthebeach · 04/08/2019 22:04

DD, DH, DSD, and DSS left the balcony 30 minutes before it happened. So so frightening. Praying he recovers.

sqirrelfriends · 04/08/2019 22:08

I just saw this on the news. It's disgusting and I'm struggling to comprehend why anyone even think of it?!

I hope the little boy recovers, I can't even imagine what his mum must be going through right now.

Boysey45 · 04/08/2019 22:09

I cant stand being near any type of drop.
I bet its a sibling or relative, its very strange for a random to do that.
A friend of mine witnessed a woman being pushed under a tube in New York by a lunatic.Everyone needs to stand well back and stay away from edges and drops.

SemperIdem · 04/08/2019 22:13

That poor little boy, his poor mother. I feel quite teary after reading the report of it.

One family are very likely to lose their young child, another may well have just discovered their young adult child is lost to them too.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 04/08/2019 22:15

I read about it and it made me feel sick. I can't imagine what that poor boy and his family are going through. It's unthinkable.

BizzzzyBee · 04/08/2019 22:22

The balcony is about 5ft tall. The child couldn’t even have been leaning over it so couldn’t have been pushed. The perpetrator must have physically picked him up and thrown him over. Very disturbing.

HennyPennyHorror · 04/08/2019 22:26

The Daily Fail shows the part where he fell and theres a roof halfway down...it's not as far as if he fell to the floor...Im praying he fell on the roof and not all the way from the 10th floor....if he did there's a chance he'll be ok.

Jinglejanglefish · 04/08/2019 22:27

The BBC news just said he fell on the roof of the 5th floor, so 5 stories not 10.

SemperIdem · 04/08/2019 22:30

I think a small child falling 5 storey’s (from the 10th floor) is no less likely to be catastrophic, sadly.

MovinOnUp · 04/08/2019 22:34

He fell from the 10th floor balcony on to the 5th floor roof.

MovinOnUp · 04/08/2019 22:36

Posted too soon.
Was it 10th to 5th?

I really don't want to go looking at news stories.

Lovemusic33 · 04/08/2019 22:38

alwaystherainbow I thought similar as soon as I read the story, not saying it is the case but it’s a possibility. I work supporting people with sn’s and mental health issues which is maybe why it was my first thought?

Whatever the circumstances it’s just awful, I hope the boy makes a full recovery and my thoughts are with his family. I’m sure in time we will find out more, wether it’s linked to other similar attacks or wether there’s a totally different reason for someone to do something so terrible.

alittleprivacy · 04/08/2019 22:38

It can be ok. I know someone who fell a greater distance and recovered very well. A fantastic and rare outcome but the situation isn't without hope.

HennyPennyHorror · 04/08/2019 22:39

I have heard of some cases where small children have survived ridiculously high falls...it can happen. I''m praying and hoping anyway.

Sarcelle · 04/08/2019 22:50

Both the victim and the perpetrator may have been tourists. It's a very popular attraction for overseas visitors.

Really distressing, pointless. I wonder if there is some awful dare doing the rounds?

Whosorrynow · 04/08/2019 22:56

Unimaginable horror
