With 'kevin' and 'Diane' or suchlike in letters above where they sat.

My elder brother had these.

He also had one of those horns that went 'na na naaa na na na na na naaaa na na na'.

Dad made him remove it.

Even age about 9 I thought this was incredibly naff.

Any MN ever the 'Diane'Grin

I always wanted one of those horns.

BalloonSlayer · 03/08/2019 09:53

Oh gosh I remember those!

Did he have furry dice as well?

isabellerossignol · 03/08/2019 09:55

The Dukes of Hazzard horn? Grin

Soola · 03/08/2019 10:06

I once went in a date with a man who was a lot younger than me by over a decade and he turned up driving a blue Subaru that had all the billy bolt on spoilers. It was hideous and I didn’t go out with him again!

I kind of slunk really low in my seat! Grin

Soola · 03/08/2019 10:08

It had skirts and he couldn’t drive over any high bumps as the front skirt was so ridiculously low!

It was bright blue! Grin

I bought a car (2nd hand) that had what they described as a 'super-horn' added. It played actual tunes and was programmed with over 5oo plus you could add your own. Me and the kids drove 200 miles one Christmas playing carols at all the traffic lights. It was great fun in an annoying sort of way.

Sadly one day it simply had enough and halfway through 'The Yellow Rose of Texas' we had to evacuate the car when it burst into flames on the dashboard! I did manage to yank the wires out and save the car but it was a tense few minutes.

Never seen or heard one since thank goodness

GreenwoodLane · 03/08/2019 10:39

When I passed my test (24 years ago), someone bought me furry dice, bless them.

FromDespairToHere · 03/08/2019 12:12

I have a vague memory of a comedian singing a song about "young love" that had a bridge to that tune that went "and here's Wayne and Sharon in a Ford Cortina" and those always make me think of that!

I can't remember who it was but it was a Victoria Wood/Jasper Carrott type thing.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/08/2019 12:48

I always wanted furry dive in my car. Not sure why I haven't bought any! I must remedy that immediately. If only to wind my dad up.

MarthasGinYard · 03/08/2019 12:49

Yes I remember that

I remember those stickers! I thought they were so sophisticated!

MarthasGinYard · 03/08/2019 12:52

In this day and age of anonymity this and GDPR that.

Can you imagine if we were all pulling up in our cars with

Thomas and Emma depicted on the windscreen all proud as punch.

I always wanted furry dive in my car.

Best typo today. Grin

A friend worked in Dixons or similar and gave me a length of their rainbow striped plastic that clung to the window. I put it across the windscreen of my mini, and made seat covers from stripey deckchair canvas, and had ‘stained glass’ stickers too. It was awesome Grin

Oldraver · 03/08/2019 13:03

I bought furry dice for our current car but they seem to of been thrown in the garage.

Infairnees they are a pain and get in the way

StarlightToCasualMoths · 03/08/2019 13:12

Surely it was the eighties version of Facebooks “in a relationship”

MorgueDweller · 03/08/2019 13:13

You can still get the name stickers. I used to have a VW camper and had one made up for me.

MorgueDweller · 03/08/2019 13:13

Only a few years ago.

Lindormilk · 03/08/2019 13:15
