With 'kevin' and 'Diane' or suchlike in letters above where they sat.

My elder brother had these.

He also had one of those horns that went 'na na naaa na na na na na naaaa na na na'.

Dad made him remove it.

Even age about 9 I thought this was incredibly naff.

Any MN ever the 'Diane'Grin

My parents had these as 'joke'. They had Kevin and Tracey (not their real names but the actual names on the stickers) because they were quite snobby and thought they were 'common' names.
Their friends obviously thought it was hilarious because they then got Sharon and something (again not their real names).
Of course no one who didn't know them would know it was a joke and just thought they were plonkers probably!

I'm now looking at my dreary family car thinking it's needing some sprucing. I already have those stick figure families on my rear window (but silhouettes of a famous tv show characters, can't say as I had them custom made so it would be too outing) but it's needing a little... something. Ebay might be able to sort me out with a windscreen name sticker and some fluffy dice.

You could win a ‘Radio One’ sunstrip at the summer roadshows IIRC

PancakeAndKeith · 03/08/2019 15:04

He also had one of those horns that went 'na na naaa na na na na na naaaa na na na'.

My dad had one of those back in the 70s. He used to do it every time he went by the house of a friend.
There is someone who drives down a road near us with one. I hear it at 8.45 every week day morning. I figure the driver must be someone like my dad and he’s going by a friends house on the way to work.

I had a Talbot Samba; I'm surprised anyone's ever heard of them Grin

I definitely didn't buy it for its looks or style.

SamBeckett · 03/08/2019 15:24

You could get a ‘tasteful’ green sun visor car sticker from a hairdresser’s near me in the 1970s. ‘I’ve had it off at Giggles!’ Classy.

feesh · 03/08/2019 15:51

I had a Talbot Samba too. I actually cried when I bought it 😆

My Dad had a klaxon horn on his car (he had a normal one as well). If he decided to pick me up from school I would know it by the AHOOOOOOOOOOARGH that rent the air when I exited the gate. I loved it.
Grin

In his memory I was recently looking for a klaxon sound to have as a text alert on my phone, but the only one I found did it Four times - a bit much even for me.

I learned to drive in a Talbot Samba. It had the steering and turning circle of a tank but it was great fun to drive. It gave sterling service and eventually died on the hard shoulder of the M3.

ChippyMinton · 03/08/2019 18:11

I may have imagined this but I recall seeing a strip with ‘Kevin’ and ‘Vacancy’ Smile

PeoniesarePink · 03/08/2019 18:17
