The Mumsnet wedding

If you were invited to a wedding consisting of only the things that go on in the village of Mumsnet, what sort of a wedding would it be?

The bride hasn't invited her cousins twice removed to sit at the top table and so as a result they and their 5 children have declined their invitation and are incredibly hurt at the notion of being put on a table further away.

The guest list was organised by mil and everyone and his dog are invited because weddings aren't about the couple they are in fact about family.

All the cheques in the wishing well are cancelled.

The NDN's builders have deposited a skip on the shared drive, blocking in the entire bridal party. The bride's father has done his best to explain the problem with the aid of a detailed diagram, but NDN is having none of it.

The spa day, organised as part of the hen do, did not have the intended effect. Despite lots of advice that it would help with the ‘nightmare, entitled’ bridesmaid SIL - it didn’t.

The menu is chicken - only 5 are needed to feed 120 guests and there'll still be leftovers for the buffet later.

Balonze brought his children (balonzino and balonzina i think they were called) to the wedding despite clear instructions to the contrary.

If I ever go to a wedding where there are “ picky bits” I will immediately know that a Mumsnetter is either the bride or the brides mother. Especially if the grooms mother ( left out of all the planning) complains.
