Weird family names for food - can you guess what 'Snuffaluffs' are?

Who else has weird food names?

Pipple and squawk is bubble and squeak. S' getti boggy knees is obvious and marmalite is either marmalade or marmite depending on who says it!

Mashed potato is mashy dodo.
DS used to call ham, manus. I have no idea why. Eggs are chuckleberries. I think originally chuckie berries.

Moretons = soreen
squashed flies are Garibaldi
Cow biscuits are malted milk
Noods are noodles.
Food isn't it for us, we save all our weird words for other stuff!

I've always called malted milk biscuits cow biscuits.

Jam is called red marmalade - DS had been watching Paddington and was desperate for a marmalade sandwich but we didn’t have any in, so I told him we had some red marmalade and presented him with a jam sandwich. It’s stuck so far!

Sliced chicken, the wafer thin kind you put on sandwiches is chicken ham.

Weetabix is eaty bits

Dairylea et al is cow cheese (as opposed to any other type which is just called cheddar, red leicester etc) because of the picture of the cow on the box, even if there is no cow

Eccles cakes are fly cakes. Started by my ddad to stop us kids ftom snarffing them all.
Grabit covered all snack food with me and DH, one of us would go to the kitchen the other would should grabit for me
Resulting in crisps/ choc/ biccys/ etc been brought back.

Cheezy Weezy Onion Bunion are cheese and onion crisps.

Never ate Garibaldi biscuits since someone called them fly cemeteries

One time DH forgot the name for custard momentarily and called it 'cake gravy'. It's been that ever since.

Same here, although sometimes it also gets called ‘yellow bastard.’

Muttar paneer at our local Indian restaurant is cheesy peas.

Dd also says marmalite which could be marmalade or marmite. I'm not sure she knows which is which!

Chocolate is dokdat as that's how ds says it.

We also mispronounce a lot of things on purpose to be silly e.g. quiche is "qwitch" and we call cheese "fromage" bit pronounced "frommidge". Crudites are "croodytes" I don't know why.

Cheese with peppers in it is "Fuego Manchego"

Swiss roll is fish roll. Hard of hearing brother misheard wen younger and it stuck!

Gnocchi is knockers and always will be now ty dd. Milk is moo juice but i think thats a common one.

Breaded fish pieces are known as fish hands, as opposed to fish fingers. My 23 year old DD told me the other day that she's just realised that not everyone calls them that!

Egg cheese = babybel

Biscuit crisps = mini cheddars

Biscuit biscuit crisps = mini cookies

Cereal yogurt = fruit corner yogurts

Sketti bollockface = self explanatory

Cow biscuits - malted milk
Fly biscuits - I can't even remember the real name for them, but it's like a flowery shape biscuit with raisins.
Mook - milk (when DS1 was a toddler)
Cow juice - milk

I'm sure there's loads of others but can't think 🤔
