I love TedEd, Booktube and documentaries but what else do you watch? I'm looking for something different.

At the moment I have an odd obsession with watching commercials from other countries like Nigeria and India,

Also I am fascinated by watching them make various candies on the Lofty Pursuits channel.

What do you watch?

Videos of people pressure washing things - anything from drives to cars to benches. It's very satisfying to watch.

Also cake decorating and hair colouring/styling.

PhysaliaPhysalis · 01/08/2019 21:14

I like watching Geoff Marshall's channel - all about the Underground and trains in general. I've no idea why. I can't remember the last time I went on a train!

Mama Doctor Jones is a US OB/GYN who is really interesting - again, last time I had a child was 14 years ago! But she compares TV births to real life which the BBC seems to do well, according to her.

Sorted Food are hilarious.

Love an acrylic pour too - love seeing how they turn out. Mixed Media Girl is a good one for that.

BakedBeeeen · 01/08/2019 21:22

Propertyofhood ooh yes, I like unintentional ASMR - recently I watched a 45 minute cleaning demo for a hotel chain - it was so relaxing!
As an alternative to tiny houses I like Kirsten Dirksen, less twee and really interesting videos about ingenious interiors in various cities around the world.
Oh yes agree with PP about Geoff Marshall - secrets of the underground series is pure geeky perfection. Great thread OP!

FrenchSchnoodle · 01/08/2019 21:26

Gummy I'm an acrylic paint pourer. I find it relaxing to actually do but as you said, even more relaxing to watch. She is also very smiley and fun.

Everythingmagnolia · 01/08/2019 21:29

Ask A Mortician, she fascinates me

PolkaDotted · 01/08/2019 21:30

Thank you all for the suggestions so far. I'll check all of them out. I love that there's such a range of topics here.

I just remembered another thing or two that I love. People showing their tea collections. It's just so soothing. Also I love Vegan food hauls(I'm not even vegan) and raw vegan what I eat in a day videos. It's so fascinating to watch someone having a salad the size of a dining table for lunch or 12 mangos for breakfast.

Another vote for Dan Bell here. My favourite series he does is called "Another dirty room". Him and his friends (Rick and Will) travel to the worst motels they can find and document the absolute squalor they encounter. These motels are off the scale awful (bed bugs, drug paraphernalia, potential crime scenes...you name it...) They use luminol and drug kits to validate what they find. A lot of the commentary is jokey, but there is often a serious side where they reflect on the dangers this poses to people.

I travel a lot for work and can definitely say I have adopted the "pillow check" each time I stay somewhere new! Confused

The very lovely Martin Clunes - this video inspired me to start my business and there's a raised eyebrow about half way through that brings a lump to my throat very time I watch it...

Seashell80 · 01/08/2019 22:01

Forgive me ... is Tiny Food real ? Like real food or is it just pretend ? (!)

PunkTrumpet · 01/08/2019 22:15

Likethebattle · 01/08/2019 22:27

Things about haunted objects. Obvious bunkum but strangely compelling....start with dybbuk boxes.

Bionerd23
She’s a Chernobyl hunter!

pinkyredrose · 01/08/2019 22:37

Refinery 29 have lots of interesting videos. It's a woman's website that also had a you tube channel, there's some thought provoking short films on there.
