So it needed repainting. I stupidly let my son choose the colour. He is SO proud of himself and loves it. It looks the the changing rooms of our local shit council swimming pool.

It's absolutely fucking awful Grin

So. Do I add white blinds, wooden blinds to help soften it?

Or do I throw EVERYTHING into the fuckit bucket and get hot pink blinds and flamingo the fuck out of it?

P.s if you recognise the photo please don't out me.

Deep brown will work, you will never have to clean the bathroom again 🤣.
And noone will believe you have anyway.

PenguinsRabbits · 31/07/2019 23:53

I asked my DS's (12) advice on this and flamingos are good, blue walls and apparently you need yellow floor so it like the beach. Grin

HerkyBaby · 01/08/2019 00:00

It reminds me of going to the beach - azure sea etc so could make it sensational by using that theme - deck chair stripe curtains/ blind. Buckets to keep things tidy etc etc

bumblebeejockstrap · 01/08/2019 00:01

Try pinterest turquoise bathrooms.

White seat, definitely. Wooden is so 1980s. Walls should be lighter than the tiles. Accessorise with teal towels if you must.

merlotqueen · 01/08/2019 00:11

It isn't beige or grey, be grateful he has embraced colour.

northerngirl2012 · 01/08/2019 00:20

I’d leave it, I like it. Agree with previous comments, embrace it, & love the flamingo comments!

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 01/08/2019 00:36

I don't see what is wrong with painting it in a month's time. Its a small room. You could do it yourself in a day.

DO NOT paint anywhere in your bathroom dark brown. Think about it......

movingontosomethingnew · 01/08/2019 00:56

I loved it when it looked teal.

Javagrey · 01/08/2019 00:59

I'd leave it if it's going in a year anyway and the rest of your family like it. Leave the toilet seat too. Great wooden blinds and beach theme. It will look great and the kids will love it. Fish, buckets and spades, ice cream stencils on the walls? Anything seasides.

Mummaofmytribe · 01/08/2019 01:03

I actually like the colour. Paint the tiles :)

Oceanbliss · 01/08/2019 01:04

I'm going to go against the grain here and say I like the wood toilet seat. White blinds will create a contrast if that's what you want. I think wood blinds would tie in with the toilet seat and would create a natural theme. Add in some nice plants and sea shells etc. And yes you could paint the tiles if you wanted to.

The tiles are a very deep colour, which I think is why the blue won't work. You could think about painting those?

NotYourHolidayDick · 01/08/2019 07:54

The blue is vile. I thought it was teal last night. It's not. It's Little Tikes blue.

For the love of all things Holy, someone give me a colour. I'm not painting the tiles. Painted tiles always look shit. I need to repaint the walls.

But it's so lovely!!
I think your DS made a great choice.
It's fresh, colourful, 'beachy'.
Perfect for a bathroom!

I might paint my bathroom teal too, not even joking.
I absolutely love it 😍

EdtheBear · 01/08/2019 08:00

Honestly I'd go with the flamingos and leave it for a year.

I think the blue walls and sandy tiles makes a perfect beach.

StripyCuffs · 01/08/2019 08:05

Unless you plan on embracing the Bristol Stool Chart, stay away from the brown 💩💩💩

Roomba · 01/08/2019 08:17

The poster that said the only thing worse that a teal bathroom is a red one was wrong.

The only thing worse is a bathroom painted fluorescent acid yellow (like a t-shirt from 1988). I had the misfortune the live in a shared house with this bathroom - you needed sunglasses on just to enter and if you were hungover, forget it Grin God knows where that paint came from, is strongly suspect it was not domestic paint and was nicked from a roadmarking project...

bumblingbovine49 · 01/08/2019 08:20

I think the teal is lovely. It just doesn't go with the tiles. I think it is the mix of warm , light soft tone of the tiles with a very cool crisp deep paint colour.

I.surprisongly did myself agreeing with the idea that a sage or navy blind might just work.

I'd be tempted to paint a few hundred pieces of cardboard with some tester colours to see what time/ colour works best for a blind and buy a colour that matches as close as possible to that . Then choose a close a.match to that as possible
for the accessories/ towels to bring it all together

I think a white blind might not work with that combination.

The loo seat really needs to be white or at least not wood. Not quite sure what though

bumblingbovine49 · 01/08/2019 08:32

Sorry op. Missed the post where you have decided to.chamge it. I think a brown/ colour might look a bit boring unless it is quite dark .which as other have said is a bit difficult in a bathroomGrin

I am not keen on the tile colour if truth be told but appreciate they are expensive to change.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 01/08/2019 08:37

I still like it 🙈

TatianaLarina · 01/08/2019 08:52

Painted tiles indeed look terrible.

Just paint it neutral - cream, stone, mouse breath etc.

You say you’re redoing it in year.

Foslady · 01/08/2019 09:04

I like it.

But then again I have a bright yellow bathroom (with the darkest colour brown wood everywhere)
