I’m very British in my thinking, majority of those are surnames to me.

I like Lewis though

lostfrequencies · 29/07/2019 17:31

I like Henry, that's all sorry.

Expressedways · 29/07/2019 17:33

I really like Fred although I prefer it if it’s short for Frederick. Henry is very nice. Lewis is ok. The others are, ahem, not my taste.

BertsFriend · 29/07/2019 17:36

Quim is slang for a woman's genitals, just in case there's a chance Quimby will be shortened.

Crunchymum · 29/07/2019 17:43

Some of those are deranged?

Ellerby?
Quimby?

Are you feeling OK? Shock

CommeDesPoissons · 29/07/2019 17:45

I would advise against Quimby ....

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 29/07/2019 17:46

Henry
The others...just no!

FlibbertyGiblets · 29/07/2019 17:54

Quim excellent nn for Quimby. That is my winner.

userabcname · 29/07/2019 18:11

I like Henry and Fred

maddiemookins16mum · 29/07/2019 18:12

Porter, wtf. Are you outside of the UK Op?

Tobebythesea · 29/07/2019 18:17

Henry

NeverGotMyPuppy · 29/07/2019 18:19

If you want to be all experimental with names, get your name changed. Don't saddle a baby with most of these!

Silversun83 · 29/07/2019 19:06

I like Henry - in fact it would have been on our shortlist were it not so popular.

Wilson = beach ball in castaway
Rodger = had a good rodgering
Marshall = Paw Patrol
Quimby = reminds me of Nimby, as in Not in my backyard.

Sorry, just what comes to mind!

Not too keen on the others either..

fussychica · 29/07/2019 19:49

Nothing there for me I'm afraid.
Henry is fine but way too popular.

I think some of those would be asking for your child to be teased/ bullied especially QuimbyShock

TheFirstOHN · 29/07/2019 19:56

Quimby will end up being shortened to Quim.

It would be like calling your baby Cunten. Or Minjie.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 29/07/2019 19:58

From that list it HAS to be Henry! Anything else would be cruel...

Soola · 29/07/2019 19:58

Henry.

Lewis at a push.

TheFirstOHN · 29/07/2019 20:09

I just looked up the name Quimby on a baby naming site.
The meaning given is "from the woman's estate"

That's a euphemistic way of describing it.

Mookie81 · 29/07/2019 21:14

The whole list is stupid.
And I'm gonna say it...go with Balonz Grin.

SoftSheen · 29/07/2019 21:18

I'll narrow it for you:

Henry
Frederick (Fred for short)

Ditch the others...

user1493494961 · 29/07/2019 21:21

We've narrowed it for you... Henry, Fred or Lewis.

user1493494961 · 29/07/2019 21:23

X post (almost).

Pascha · 29/07/2019 21:23

Not Wilson Shock

Fluffynoon · 29/07/2019 21:29

Henry - Yes
Ellerby - No
Wilson - No
Darby - Derby? Still... No
Fred - Yes
Porter - Barrister May be a better aim?
Rodger - Don't love it
Lewis - Fine
Hubert - Herb is cute but Hurbert has some unfortunate connotations
Marshall - No - Paw patrol
Quimby - Quim.... no

AdaColeman · 29/07/2019 21:30

You've got to love Quim for a nn!

Rodger would spend his entire life correcting the spelling of his name, as would Darby.

Fred isn't bad, though I'd prefer Frederick with Fred as nn.
