Gloria...definitely easingwold then
There’s some lovely houses on the green surrounding the town square. It has a well stocked Co-op in town centre and one about 5 min walk away on main road. A good butchers, toy and card shop. An independent health shop. All tucked away in between the pubs and houses. Very quaint
Several good pubs. A nice park with children’s area
The galtres centre gets a film once a month..( Vue cinema is only 20 mins away towards york on the ring road.)
Also it has a gym, and gets visiting plays, and other performing artistes . A morning cafe.
There’s a couple of tea rooms. A market on a Friday
The annual music festival was just two weeks ago in aid of Yorkshire air ambulance
It’s a real good natured family event in town square
My family travelled down for it. It’s on from 12 till 9 pm...because well..it’s a family town.
There’s a town noticeboard, where people post their events.
There’s other little businesses in their too, all dotted around.
We come down on a Wednesday and stay at our caravan just on the outskirts till Sunday.
We can be on the ring road around york in 20 mins. Go left towards Scarborough and There’s Clifton moor with a huge Tesco, Wilkinson’s, furniture shops,
Monks cross a few miles further along has Asda, Debenhams 🤔 , primark, boots...hobbycraft, poundland ..it’s undergoing a Refurb after Dorothy Perkins/ miss selfridge etc chains pulled out..will be interesting to see what comes back
To maxx and Sainsbury’s are behind it
Then there’s vanguarde a little bit further along the ring rd with Nando’s, big m and s , John Lewis and a few other restaurants
Go right on the ring road towards Selby and there’s another complex with more restaurants etc or follow the signs to MacArthur glen , an indoor shopping centre with lots of top names. I tend to avoid but visited with grandson on Friday as he wanted designer stuff. It was pouring outside so yes it was heaving ☹️
York has about 4 theatres and we haven’t had chance to get to any yet. Also a picturehouse cinema in the main centre near the river.
Great music scene . We go down a couple of nights a week to see what’s on or if our favourite bands are playing.
Home is where we come back to , to see the family, do our washing, all our admin and business side of things..and caravan / Easingwold / york and surrounding area is where we go to p,at.
And we go tomorrow...yayyyyy,
I’m like a big kid. It’s like we’ve been picked up and set down in our own version of heaven.
Nice people, plenty to do, lovely scenery. Lovely neighbours on our caravan park.
We are well blessed.
