Just woke up and this is on the wall, help!!

There's nothing you can do, gather belongings and leave immediately. It's the spiders home now.

Those are the ones I really can't stand. Those ginormous ones. I send DH after them. I just can't.

You have my sympathy, but I've no advice. I'd probably run screaming down the street.

I live in australia. Use the vacuum cleaner and then use duct tape to seal the brush.

I would probably use the vacuum cleaner too. I would then put said vacuum cleaner out in the shed.

I’m at my daughters and the children didn’t go to sleep til silly o clock so daren’t wake anyone! What will happen if I throw a jug of water at it???

Have you got anything you can spray it with? Or something heavy you can throw at it?

I would worry that the water would only enrage it - sorry......

@tinyvulture , would have to go into my daughters room for hairspray and don’t want to wake them, ditto hitting it with something heavy. Oh god I’ll never sleep again. I can just about cope while I can see it but it’s getting restless ......

Please don't spray it or splat it, get a pint glass and some card and take it outside.

Or leave it for someone else to put it outside.

Accept that the house belongs to the spider. Maybe go to the CAB to find out whether you have any legal rights as squatters in its house.

Tell your daughter she has a new Landlord and get on outta there!

Catch him with glass and paper as suggested, take him into your daughters room and ask if he pays rent, if not let him out in the garden, if yes, sorry he has to stay!

Honestly I think the council have a duty to house you under such circumstances!

I always try and catch them and put them out but I hate those ones. It looks like it's been around the block a bit and is prepared to fight. Also not sure it would fit under a pint glass! How did you cope OP?
