Anyone else up in the heat?

It's gone down to 22 outside now but it's so much hotter indoors! We're in a top floor flat so it's bloody boiling.

Bedroom window is open and no sheets, still can't sleep and it's been 4 nights of this so far! Feeling so dizzy and tired but restless at the same time.SadAngry

Me!

It's still 26 outside here and I'm the same - top floor flat, windows open and fan on ....

I prefer the heat to the rain though ha

CoffeeRunner · 26/07/2019 01:45

Still boiling hot in my house - but the thunder & rain has just started so hopefully that will cool us down a bit.

Might go & sit in the garden in it!

freshsheets · 26/07/2019 01:47

@CoffeeRunner ah having a garden would be a dream right now! I swear i'd set up camp and sleep outside just to get some rest 😂

We had a small storm earlier with rain for about 10 mins but nothing since. Just random lightening.

Too hot to sleep. No cover on top of me but bedsheet is sticking to me!

RavenLG · 26/07/2019 01:56

Weather app says it’s 23 but thermostat is showing 29 still. I had just started to drift off and heard a massive bang. DP is working away so I bloody shit myself. Sat on the edge of the bed panicking, turns out it was the bastard shower speaker coming unstuck and smashing on the shower tray 😳 bloody wide away now 😭

stopitandtidyupp · 26/07/2019 02:02

Just had a nice sit outside. Was lovely came back into a sauna.

freshsheets · 26/07/2019 02:08

Its raining here now! DP has just come to bed and fallen asleep immediately I've been in here since 11.30pm and I'm still awake!!

@RavenLG Hope the speaker is okay! (I'm jealous you have a shower speakerGrin), we got woken up yesterday funnily enough by a loud bang as our pup had knocked his water bowl everywhere in his sleep 😂

Just started thrashing down with rain after mini storm

Hallelujah Grin

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 26/07/2019 02:10

It’s horrible I’m exhausted but it’s roasting. Like you said, DP is fast asleep!

TheoriginalLEM · 26/07/2019 02:12

Laying in bed next to a snoring dp with a damp towel over me, i am not sure if it's helping .

RavenLG · 26/07/2019 02:15

The speaker is lucky it’s not been thrown out the window. It was about £5 from eBay 😂 sticks (or supposed to) with one of those little sucker things and it’s just a Bluetooth deely.
I hope your DP stops snoring soon and you can get some sleep. I’m praying for rain soon!

FreddiesMammy · 26/07/2019 02:25

23 here and I absolutely can’t take it, I’ve completely stripped off, no covers on and window wide open and I’m drinking water by the gallon. Im shattered because the sun makes me tired but then can’t sleep because it’s too hot

TheBananaInPyjamas · 26/07/2019 02:33

Yep still awake. Managed to fall asleep earlier woke up to dp still being out... which worried me so now I'm wide awake again and my ice bottles have melted lol

Florencenotflo · 26/07/2019 02:39

Yep, wide awake here too. 35 weeks pregnant, horrendous heartburn (currently chewing rennies), DH is snoring like a train, we have a fan on full blast but it sounds slightly like a small aircraft is in my bedroom. Plus I'm listening out for Dd who has developed a summer cold tonight and keeps waking herself up coughing.

All in all I'm going to be delightful tomorrow/today after very little sleep!

MuseThalia · 26/07/2019 02:39

I'm awake :( my husband is snoring his head off too (extremely loudly) I've just been to get some water from the fridge, it hasn't stayed cold for long though

Sarcelle · 26/07/2019 02:40

This weather makes my nose bunged up. I managed to get some sleep but woke up drowning in snot. Too much info, but horrible. Every time I lie down I can't breathe. And as sweaty as hell.

I have a dental hygienist appointment tomorrow at 9. Really looking forward to that.

It is still going to be 27 degrees tomorrow where I am. I want it to go down to 20 degrees.

RavenLG · 26/07/2019 02:43

My house alarm has now just gone off twice in 5 mins. Error where the fault is wasn’t showing properly so now I’m sat with the fan off and all sound off, light on and scared witless. I mean if it was a burglar they’d be out straight away at the sight of my flopping around semi naked but bloody hell man! Think I’ve just seen a flash of lightening in the distance when looking up out the window at the box. Hope it’s some thing to do with that! Defo not sleeping now.

Violetroselily · 26/07/2019 02:45

I drifted off for 2 hours and now I'm wide awake, dripping in sweat. My bed feels like an oven.

I have a really shit day at work tomorrow and this isnt helping Angry

CapybarasLoveCake · 26/07/2019 02:48

Still awake since I went to bed at 10.30 feeling tired. How’s that possible?

Thunder just starting but no rain

HJWT · 26/07/2019 02:50

Its apparently 18C outside were we are!! So why the feck its 29C in our rubbish new build is beyond me!! 28 weeks pregnant and poor DD keeps waking up 🥴🥵

Topseyt · 26/07/2019 02:55

I'm awake too. Exhausted but far too hot to sleep properly so I keep waking up.

Earlier on I sat outside on the patio in a rain shower just to get some respite and cool off. Boiling again now though. It is such an oppressive heat too. Extremely humid.

Rockbird · 26/07/2019 02:56

Yep. Me and dd2 are awake. Have three fans going and it's still like a swamp in here.

Pinktinker · 26/07/2019 03:01

Yup, 23 degrees here and I’ve given up. The fan has been blowing all night but I just can’t sleep.

tinyvulture · 26/07/2019 03:08

Wide awake. Contemplating treating myself to the last of the mineral water out of the fridge. Sharing a room with dd who is fast asleep and snoring. Child could sleep through anything......
