It's gone down to 22 outside now but it's so much hotter indoors! We're in a top floor flat so it's bloody boiling.

Bedroom window is open and no sheets, still can't sleep and it's been 4 nights of this so far! Feeling so dizzy and tired but restless at the same time.SadAngry

Me 😢Still no bloody rain or thunder here up North.

LeonoraFlorence · 26/07/2019 03:23

Wide awake. Home from hol this afternoon and I felt exhausted earlier but can’t for the life of me sleep.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 26/07/2019 04:08

Me I'm up. Is it acceptable to not go to work in the morning?

It was 37/38 degrees in the office today. It's a metal building.

I'm exhausted

orangeshoebox · 26/07/2019 04:18

I slept well after I went swimming last night.
but am wide awake now.
opened all windows as finally it's below 30 outside.

Bloodybridget · 26/07/2019 04:38

This is the third time I've been awake tonight, this time with a cracking headache, have taken meds and made a cup of tea. A few rumbles of thunder now. Some cooler air coming into my bedroom, 23 degrees outside apparently. Oh, it's just started raining!

UncomfortableSilence · 26/07/2019 05:22

Been awake the whole bloody night, I love the heat but our house is stifling and it's making me feel ill.

We are having a huge storm so just pulled the blinds to watch that from bed, it's going to be a long day.

historysock · 26/07/2019 06:39

Have been awake all night boiling. At 5am we had the huge storm
That cleared the air. Would now be comfy enough to sleep but have to get up for work 🙄

EggysMom · 26/07/2019 06:44

4:30am I moved into the spare bedroom. 5am DS & I gave up trying to sleep and came downstairs. No doubt DH will say he couldn't sleep due to heat, but he's the one left up there, snoring away ...

TheoriginalLEM · 26/07/2019 07:04

@FunkyBarnYardBroom more than reasonable! You shouldn't have to work in those conditions. I'm actually looking forward to going to work today as they have air con

sashh · 26/07/2019 07:05

I had the portable AC on all night.

A cool shower before bed and PJs that have spent the day in the fridge also help.

If you can stand it spray water on a sheet to sleep under.

Can you tell I don't do heat?

orangeshoebox · 26/07/2019 07:06

no rain here.
no trains either, commute will be fun...

orangeshoebox · 26/07/2019 07:11

on the plus side I had a cuppa outside at 5am and it was glorious!

Misty9 · 26/07/2019 07:12

I spent the night on the sofa as my bedroom was hotter than hell. Typhoon like storms hit from 10pm and lasted hours but amazingly I slept through from 11ish and feel quite refreshed for the first time in days.

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 26/07/2019 07:17

Heat has given me cystitis Sad i just couldn't retain any fluid yesterday.
My kidneys ache am feeling glum. The heat has properly messed up my body.

orangeshoebox · 26/07/2019 07:21

ifonly sounds awful. hope you feel better soon. do you have any hydration powder? keep drinking.

freshsheets · 26/07/2019 07:47

Morning everyone, literally haven't slept and have a banging headache 👍🏻😫

Says the hottest it'll be here today will be 23 so hopefully I'll sleep better tonight (plus I'm changing the sheets today so that always helps!).

Four hours sleep I reckon I got!

Made worse by DP getting in from a night out at 2.30 steaming drunk..kept rolling over onto me in the middle of the night. Just when I fell asleep around 4 he accidentally hit me round the head with his arm. Oblivious to the world snoring away.

@EggysMom I think he'll do the same as your DH, and say he slept badly! Only wish I had slept that much - even after getting in at 2.30!

CrazyCatLady159 · 26/07/2019 10:46

We've just got the thunderstorm!
But it's still 26 ha - so not sure if it's going to actually help

Misty9 · 26/07/2019 16:19

Urgh 29 here again and it's stifling. My bedroom is no cooler so it'll be the sofa again for me Confused

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 26/07/2019 22:19

Well I went to work. Had a surprise review and all the comments were negative. (And the weirdest comments I've ever received in any employment ever)

So I'm glad I went in.... Shouldn't have bothered
