This is so cool.

Real time lightening map. I’m currently lying on my bed listening to the thunder and simultaneously watching it on the map.

If it makes it to me, I have every intention of standing out and getting soaking wet! (Provided there's no lightning close by.)

I think I am a geek. Just watched a bit of lightening on the map go off about seven miles from here and then counted until the pulsing radius got close to my house when I heard the thunder. Took about ten seconds.

That's much more interesting than it has any right to me.

It reminds me of sitting watching the earthquake map after Christchurch's big quake in 2011.

The storms are getting closer to where I am. Hooray!

What’s the advice re thunderstorms and being on a boat/ near water/ ina caravan in forest? I’m on hols in Italy and I think it’s heading this way!

@Karwomannghia - If my grandfather is to be believed, it's to get the feck of out that boat and that water, and if absolutely must be under a tree, it's better in a forest than a lonely one of a field. And no swimming.
