How many coffee pods do you have daily?

Just trying to put my coffee consumption into perspective - need shaming into reducing!
I have 3 on a good day but 5 on a bad day.

None. Another bean to cup machine here.

And have also just done my first experiment with making a cold brew. It isn't quite as good as Starbucks, but ok for a first endeavour. Will leave to brew for longer next time.

Nat6999 · 25/07/2019 22:29

None, I'm not a big hot drink lover.

NeverTwerkNaked · 25/07/2019 22:36

None.
Recycling doesn't exonerate you. The energy and resources needed to produce and deliver and then to collect and recycle are immense.

It's " reduce reuse recycle" for a reason

Would never use pods but do have 4-5 cups a day. Black and strong, mostly freshly ground. We buy big bags of beans, grind at home and stick through a filter machine. At work I have a cafetiere and instant for emergencies.

onemouseplace · 25/07/2019 22:37

2 a day, maybe 3 at the very max. DH will have 2 if he’s at home as well. We send ours off to be recycled and i’m comfortable with that.

Sittinonthefloor · 25/07/2019 22:37

None, but about 8 cups of tea ☕️☕️☕️☕️

RedSheep73 · 25/07/2019 22:38

Zero. But anything up to 6 cups of tea.

64sNewName · 25/07/2019 22:41

I don’t use pods but I sometimes polish off a big cafetière on my own over the course of a morning.

Whoseagooddoggiethen · 25/07/2019 22:41

2 proper coffees each morning. I dont drink anything else bar water throughout the day then a glass of wine/soda/cup green tea in evening.

Marv1nGay3 · 25/07/2019 22:42

I think around 5 a day. I use the compostable pods.

LadyKylieShagworthy · 25/07/2019 22:42

0-1 Nespresso pods
2 cups of tea.
1 glass fruit juice/water/squash
3 glasses of wine
= total daily liquid intake

TitsMcGeeee · 25/07/2019 22:47

Get a bean to cup machine (the delonghi one is really good) instead for great coffee, but less environmental impact. You can even use the coffee grounds in your garden/compost heap. Black Friday is a good time to pick one up if you can wait.

HundredMilesAnHour · 25/07/2019 22:49

I don't use pods, I use fresh beans to make espresso (either on it's own or in a latte/flat white).

I have 1 per day apart from the two days each week when I'm up at 5.30am for the gym and I need a double espresso to get me up and out. And I will then have my "1" for the day when I get home from the gym so those are 3 per days.

I used to drink a lot more coffee (I lived in France so my caffeine tolerance was pretty high) but noticed my caffeine withdrawal was terrible on rare days when I didn't have coffee (which would be due to the challenges of location/work rather than through choice!). I could easily drink a lot more coffee again so need to be disciplined with myself.

Deadheadstickeronacadillac · 25/07/2019 22:49

7 or 8, but I use reusable ones. Was a Kickstarter a few years ago so the only 'rubbish' is the coffee grounds, which go in food waste bin.

NotMeNoNo · 25/07/2019 22:50

Aeropress but the coffee I buy comes in a tin (illy) which also needs recycling

DontTalkBloodyDaft · 26/07/2019 02:52

Around 15 a day. I live on it.

maddiemookins16mum · 26/07/2019 06:34

1 in the morning. Perhaps 2 of a weekend day. Drink tea mostly.

Ragwort · 26/07/2019 06:39

Rarely use pods but have 5-6 strong, ground coffees every day.

timeforakinderworld · 26/07/2019 07:32

On an average day I have
1 instant coffee
1 stove-top coffee (or another instant)
1 espresso at the bar under my house/bar at work

Gone2far · 26/07/2019 08:36

I have 2 a day from my nespresso machine. I'm thinking of trying Halo pods, which are easier to recycle. Has anyone tried them? I'll take some convincing, as nespresso pods make lovely coffee

Pawmageddon · 26/07/2019 09:22

Not pods but coffee machine. I generally have 2 a day but today I had 4. I'm gonna need to drink myself to sleep tonight.

CacenCrunch · 26/07/2019 16:16

None rarely drink coffee. Have about 1 tea a day if I'm in work, and the occasional one at home

Flurgle · 26/07/2019 16:25

No pods.
Aeropress- really lovely coffee 😊

S0CKS · 27/07/2019 07:55

A couple of proper coffees a day using my expresso machine no pods though
