What's your laziest habit/shortcut?

I've just tumble dried my bed sheets in this weather because I just can't be arsed to stand outside in 30 degree heat and wrestle with my super king bedding only for it all to drag in the dirt and get in a tangled mess AND then need ironing because it never dries crease free like it does in the dryer.

Am I the laziest?

AND then need ironing
😂😂😂 you iron sheets?!? What a waste of time and energy.

tobypercy · 24/07/2019 13:19

Not ironing. At all.

Re-using my breakfast toast plate if I have toast for lunch, and only getting a fresh mug for my tea occasionally.

Lots of others I'm not admitting to Grin

MrsRobinStrike · 24/07/2019 13:22

Letting next door's dog in to lick up the bits of dinner that my DC drop on the floor so I don't have to sweep it up .

EatingBreadAndHoney · 24/07/2019 13:26

Rarely iron.
Use the same mug for tea all day.

Pipandmum · 24/07/2019 13:30

Never iron. Reuse tea mug. And spoon. If I have a shower late in the day might skip one the next day (but only if I’m not doing anything, would struggle if I was meeting friends). Always use dryer.

Badwifey · 24/07/2019 13:34

Non ironer here too

No dishwasher so I reuse my cup a lot. Quick rinse and left beside the kettle when finished.

Dog cleans crumbs off the floor

I make a lot of rice dishes so I don't have to peel and cut potatoes

Leave all hand washed dishes to drip dry and then put away

Badwifey · 24/07/2019 13:35

Oh... I also have a "junk drawer" in the sitting room for a quick tidy when I'm too lazy. Everything gets dumped in there then sorted when I'm feeling a bit more productive Grin

catatemymind · 24/07/2019 13:35

Falling asleep on the sofa if I'm really tired and then just staying there for the night.

motheroftinydragons · 24/07/2019 13:36

Oh, I only iron them when they come off the line creased to hell. Out of the dryer = crease free and no need.

I rarely iron anything else either except for DHs work shirts and then only because he asks me really nicely!

Also use the same mug all day, but with a baby and 3 year old I rarely get to drink a whole hot drink anyway!

catatemymind · 24/07/2019 13:36

I second the junk drawer! I have a crap cupboard

motheroftinydragons · 24/07/2019 13:38

I have a junk cupboard! DH hates it and will routinely get crap out of it and leave it on the side to be put away. I then put it back in the cupboard because I don't have time (and can't be bothered) to find homes for it all. He gets it out again. And on the cycle goes....

This is why I bought a 5 bedroom house - we both have rooms like this. Blush

Lemontree118 · 24/07/2019 13:40

Frozen chopped onions

motheroftinydragons · 24/07/2019 13:45

@Lemontree118 I have to disagree. Frozen cooled onions aren't lazy, they're a necessary time saver AND save waste in this house. I never tend to use a whole onion so end up chucking half away.

motheroftinydragons · 24/07/2019 13:45

Cooled? Chopped!

OP posts:
peachgreen · 24/07/2019 13:47

Can't remember the last time I dried anything (besides the odd delicate) anywhere other than the tumble dryer. Also, frozen toddler meals. The posh organic ones, but still.

Bezalelle · 24/07/2019 13:51

Use kitchen roll instead of plates as far as possible.

EssentialHummus · 24/07/2019 13:57

I'm another one who gets next door's dog round at toddler mealtimes.

SuperPixie247 · 24/07/2019 13:57

I didn't realise that using the same mug for each drink is lazy. Its all my family have ever done Blush 😂

Rainbowknickers · 24/07/2019 14:02

Frozen chopped chilli/mushroom/ginger/onion
My fella thinks it’s the height of laziness
I say it’s to save waste

fishonabicycle · 24/07/2019 14:22

Very rarely iron anything. Use stuff out of dirty washing basket to dust upstairs with sometimes (saves going downstairs to get the dusting cloth).

Singlestpringle · 24/07/2019 14:28

I pretty much never iron. About once or twice a year.
I regularly buy grated cheese.
I never clean our barbeque all summer we just rely on the heat to clean it (ish)
I often sleep in my clothes if tired.
Unless I'm wearing foundation or false eyelashes I rarely take my makeup off before bed.

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 24/07/2019 15:29

Frozen chopped garlic. I decided one day that I no longer needed to prep my own just to prove I'm a decent cook. I am a decent cook - just one that really, really hates prepping garlic! And then I discovered frozen chopped chilli, ginger and basil tooSmile

MiniDoofa · 24/07/2019 15:32

Ooh yes, grated cheese!!!! I cringe at the price every time but it’s just so easy and useful!! (and we never waste any😀)

longtompot · 24/07/2019 15:49

I have many junk drawers Grin

I don't understand how your sheets get so creased when hung on the line though, but not in the drier. With mine its the other way round Hmm
