What's your laziest habit/shortcut?

I've just tumble dried my bed sheets in this weather because I just can't be arsed to stand outside in 30 degree heat and wrestle with my super king bedding only for it all to drag in the dirt and get in a tangled mess AND then need ironing because it never dries crease free like it does in the dryer.

Am I the laziest?

Buying ready made mashed potato and bags of microwaveable frozen veg in individual portions.

TrueFriendsStabYouInTheFront · 24/07/2019 16:00

@MrsRobinStrike that's amazing!! I need a friendly neighbour dog for this exact purpose!

motheroftinydragons · 24/07/2019 18:08

@longtompot I've got a super king bed and a rotary line. It's a bloody nightmare getting them on there they always end up wrinkled!

Dry shampoo. I cant be arsed to wash my hair in the shower every sodding day because making it look nice takes so much bloody effort. So about twice a week.

Boyskeepswinging · 24/07/2019 18:15

mother you need a bigger drier so you can stretch the sheet and duvet cover out along the outside rows. No wrinkles. Job done Smile

Boyskeepswinging · 24/07/2019 18:16

Sorry I meant a bigger rotary drier, obvs!

SimonJT · 24/07/2019 18:18

My cleaner does the bedsheets (and everything else), when she goes away on holiday she puts three sheets/duvet covers on so I just have to remove the old one each week.

I got an uber to and from work today as I couldn’t be bothered to walk to the tube station.

twirlypoo · 24/07/2019 18:19

I put a croissant in a sandwich bag, a carton of orange juice and the beano / another comic by Ds bed on a weekend before I goto bed. It means on a sat / sun I get an extra half hour in bed and don’t have to rush to feed him. I’m a single parent so my only way to get a lie in!

Mumof1andacat · 24/07/2019 18:41

@twilypoo what a great idea. I use frozen chopped onions and peppers. Love a bathroom cleaning wipe. I don't iron clothes.

HeyHeyMckenzie · 24/07/2019 19:05

Oh twirlypoo that's an amazing idea- single mum here too, that's genius Flowers

EatenByDinosaurs · 24/07/2019 19:12

I don't think any of these are lazy, you only get one life, why not save as much time on the crap mundane stuff as possible? Surely that's just common sense and being efficient. You'd have to be a bit of a plonker to martyr yourself for the sake of it surely? Confused

I never iron and our bedsheets dry crumpled, but I don't care so that sorts that one Grin

I do tend to cook double quantities and freeze half for later as and freeze when possible.

stephstrops · 24/07/2019 19:13

I will call my teen down from her bedroom on the pretence of needing to ask her something. As she is about to go back upstairs I then pipe up with “oh, could you just get me a drink/put the lamp on/pass the remote please darling”. I always get an eye roll but she does it

BoronationStreet · 24/07/2019 19:16

Chopped peppers, onions, fruit etc. I know it's such a waste of money but I'd rather spend ££ than have to chop/dice/cut it all myself.

longtompot · 24/07/2019 22:41

@motheroftinydragons I have a kingsize duvet cover and a rotary line. I use the two outer lines, 6 pegs, and peg the outside corners on the furthest from each other and then I peg up the middle section. That way, there is no line crease, it doesn't touch the ground and almost acts like a sail helping it dry a bit faster.

Badwifey · 25/07/2019 08:10

@stephstops my mam used to do this (actually still does when I go see her) she used to call me from my attic bedroom to get her glasses off the kitchen window Angry

EatingBreadAndHoney · 25/07/2019 09:28

I did once order a pizza delivery because I couldn't be arsed to walk to the freezer, take one out and put it in the oven.

I ordered it from my armchair and when it was delivered he just handed it through the open window I was sitting next to. Grin

Crikey that was a few years ago now!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 25/07/2019 10:11

@EatingBreadAndHoney wins the thread! Grin

longtompot · 25/07/2019 11:43

Actually, the laziest thing I did was Shazam a song playing on a cd in my cd player rather than get up and have a look at the cd case Grin
