I HATE pasta!

There. I've said it!
I hate the stuff in any form whether it's spaghetti, lasagne sheets, twists, spirals, anything. Fresh, dried, filled, plain, I don't care.
I HATE it.
So there 😝

Stick to the glue OP, there’s a love xx

PancakeAndKeith · 22/07/2019 22:48

Splendid.
Don’t eat it then.

DogbertDogglesworth · 22/07/2019 22:53

Glue would be preferable and probably tastier.

It's just admitting you dislike pasta seems to be not the done thing.
And its blooming everywhere.

So no lasagne for you then?

We love pasta.

We had tagliatelle tonight with sausage meat sauce.
Was so tasty.

Alicesweewonders · 22/07/2019 22:58

I hate pasta also, I think it's the texture - feels like rubber.

AppleKatie · 22/07/2019 22:58

I agree op. I feed it to my kids though obv.

But nope not for me!

Devonishome1 · 22/07/2019 22:58

Me too,slimy,sticky tasteless yuck😀

DogbertDogglesworth · 22/07/2019 23:06

Welcome to the pasta haters club 😀

I'm pleased that you enjoyed your meal @Bumbags. The sauce sounds nice though.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 22/07/2019 23:14

Bumbags can we have the sauce recipe? Sounds lovely.

HappyLoneParentDay · 23/07/2019 00:27

I find that people who dislike pasta haven't had it cooked correctly and with salted water. Pasta cooked without plenty of salt in the water is vile and tasteless. Done right, it's bloody gorgeous and something I crave if I go 2 or 3 days without! Love love love it!

Cacio e Pepe - food of the gods

Aquamarine1029 · 23/07/2019 00:34

My husband says he doesn't care for pasta like spaghetti, linguine, etc, yet he LOVES lasagna. Hmm

I call bullshit.

SummerSeasoning · 23/07/2019 00:40

I quite like it BUT I don't get it when people claim its healthy. It's just wheat so no different to bread in my book.

HeadintheiClouds · 23/07/2019 00:42

It’s not particularly good for you, it’s reputation is completely undeserved.

HeronLanyon · 23/07/2019 00:46

aquamarine I would like to call bullshit too BUT I have come to realise that I don’t like linguini (and not tagliatelle very much) - I honestly do think it tastes different and maybe die to wider shape/less sauce. However I can polish off heaps of spam or tortiglioni with little sauce so not sure.

I adore all other pastas. Don’t find that salt or oil in water make the slightest difference in taste or stickiness or anything at all. I have a very salty tooth so should love it and taste it but I just don’t. Gave both up a long time ago.

DogbertDogglesworth · 23/07/2019 12:19

I don't honestly like any of it. No duff.
The pasta or the sauces. I hate tomato based sauces and ketchup.

OP posts:
HappyLoneParentDay · 23/07/2019 12:35

Not all pasta sauce is tomato based though. Cacio e Pepe is a little grated black pepper in a frying pan, then mix some grated Parmesan with a spoonful of pasta water. Cooked spaghetti into the frying pan with another spoonful of pasta water then add Parmesan mix. Done! Beautiful!

WhenIsTheEasyBit · 23/07/2019 12:42

I LOVE pasta but couldn't bear it when pregnant with DC2. Texture became unbearable.

Stumpedasatree · 23/07/2019 12:45

I hate it too. Can just about stomach lasagna, but otherwise slimy gluey devil's food. I think proper Italian fresh pasta eaten in Italy might be a different matter though.

SpoonBlender · 23/07/2019 12:46

Any haters tried wholemeal pasta? It has a nutty flavour and a different texture, basically a different food entirely.

Napolina do a half'n'half wholemeal penne (iirc) that's lovely for those that do like white pasta!

HMArsey · 23/07/2019 12:54

I'm sort of in your club in that if I never ate pasta again I wouldn't care, but it's not something I hate. It's a non-food, like boiled white rice or boiled potatoes. Pointless.

Egg fried rice though? Food of the gods.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 23/07/2019 12:58

What, you don't like getting bloated and hungry again within 1/2 hour?
Yanbu.

Mewithane · 23/07/2019 13:04

This could be me!! I can't stand pasta or tomatoes, and tomatoes are a key ingredient in so many dishes that I find myself always apologising for being such a fussy eater when in fact, pasta and tomatoes are the only things I won't eat. Going out for dinner I find myself getting anxious about what will be served or if there are menu choices I will enjoy. I can't possibly ever go to an Italian restaurant.

SoyDora · 23/07/2019 13:10

What, you don't like getting bloated and hungry again within 1/2 hour?

Doesn’t happen to me 🤷🏻‍♀️. Fills me up for ages and doesn’t make me bloat.
It is kind of a ‘non food’ though. I like it just fine (if cooked with plenty of salt and not too soft), but it’s mainly the sauces I like I guess. Having said that, linguine with just olive oil, chilli and Parmesan is delicious.

Zaphodsotherhead · 23/07/2019 13:11

I don't like pasta either! Can just about take spaghetti if it's really hot, but as soon as it gets cold....urgh. All other pastas are just nasty. There's something about the texture, sort of chewy and rubbery.

I don't like pizza either. There, I said it.

ginghamstarfish · 23/07/2019 13:18

Yes, me too, it's the sort of foodstuff that you would eat if starving and nothing else was available. It has no taste, horrible texture and is surely lacking in any nutrition. Wouldn't have it in the house but DH loves it - when he fancies it we have separate meals ....
