I bought a cheap Footner

And it came with two of these. Any ideas?

The normal footner sock bits were in the box as normal but these were there too. I thought maybe they’re supposed to hold the footner socks on but my feet aren’t cloven so they can’t be for that. No mention of them in the rather brief instructions.

Could you put a foot in each of the holes? Grasping at straws

Bezalelle · 21/07/2019 20:53

I think you were accidentally sent the Footners meant for Satan. Only thing that explains the cloven hoofed-ness.

Holenewme · 21/07/2019 20:59

I definitely couldn’t fit a foot in each hole. I thought maybe one hole for a massive big toe and the other hole for all the other toes. But what would be the point in that? It wouldn’t work in tandem with the footner at all. And it’s in no way useful to ever wear a toeless, footless hood kitten at any other time either.

On the plus side there were two pairs of ‘ in the box when it claims there’s only one.

Something to do with flip-flops? What on earth is a Footer anyway?

Ilovetolurk · 21/07/2019 21:46

I’d be careful what if when you remove it your toes come away too?

BlueWonder · 21/07/2019 21:49

Footner...!

Holenewme · 21/07/2019 22:16

bluewonder they’re plastic bag sock things that are wet on the inside. You wear them for an hour or so and then a week later your foot sheds it’s skin like a snake. It’s fabulous. But they’re about £15 so I bought a cheap Chinese one from Amazon. The instructions said ‘Put sock on foot. Wait. Take sock off foot.’ No mention at all of the tiny pair of trousers that was included.

You can get Footner on Amazon for £10 usually. I've done it three times so far. How much was the Chinese one? God knows what'll be in it if it's a knock off version but in the name of science I think you should proceed...

No idea on the toe johnny I'm afraid.

GrapefruitIsGross · 21/07/2019 22:34

Boots have genuine footner on a buy one get one half price deal with loads of other stuff at the moment which I’m v tempted by!

Leggyfrog · 21/07/2019 22:44

Home Bargains sell a version for about 90p a packet. Must work as you get a good peel.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 21/07/2019 22:46

yes, i had the Home Bargains ones too, bloody brilliant. Minty fresh and no random foot gussets!

MiniMum97 · 21/07/2019 22:59

Why do you not want skin on your foot?????

BlueWonder · 22/07/2019 06:32

Thank you OP....every day is a school day! Even the first day of the hols. ..yay! Runs off to Home Bargains....

Esspee · 22/07/2019 07:11

MiniMum97 Some of us suffer from hard skin on our feet which we ignore until the sandal season arrives then we're embarrassed to show off our hooves. I have always meant to try these but have read that the shedding is rather excessive. I forget until the weather is too good to be wearing socks to hide the transitional messy bit.

Tips anyone?

Esspee · 22/07/2019 07:16

OP, does it come with more detailed instructions in Chinese?
Perhaps you could post a photograph of them? Some kind mumsnetter would help I am sure.

Roussillon849 · 22/07/2019 07:20

Yes esspee, I have been wanting to ask the same question. I keep forgetting to "do" the footner I've got sitting in my cupboard (it is in fact a cheap version off eBay, like the OP's). I'm going on holiday this Thursday. I've left it too late, haven't I? Or have I?

LifeOfBox · 22/07/2019 07:24

Oh, actually it hasn’t. That’s a tan line grin

That is so funny 😂. I needed a 😆

Holenewme · 22/07/2019 07:58

roussillon if you do a Footner today then have a long bath on Wednesday it should all come off then. Probably. Or you’ll go on holiday looking like you’ve got leprosy. Do it.

GemmeFatale · 22/07/2019 08:52

I’ve been wanting to do this for ages. I see a trip to home bargains in my future

notso · 22/07/2019 09:10

I was most disappointed with Footner.
I bought the real thing, repulsed my family with the following soaking and shedding.
My skin peeled off to reveal fresh clean but hard skin underneath.
Waste of time.

Roussillon849 · 22/07/2019 16:24

Holenewme I think I shall, thank you! Grin

Sunnysidegold · 22/07/2019 16:33

@rousillon please don't make the same mistake I did!! My cheap version said I'd see results in 4-6 days so I did it 10 days before holidays with no results. Thought they must have been a dud. Until I got out of the pool the first day and it looked like my feet were dissolving before my very eyes. I had to hide them under the towel until I got back to my room. Of course the bloody feet had dried by then so I couldn't do any peeling so I had to soak them as best I could in the shower. My child was saying "what's wrong with your foot mummy?" My husband was tryibg not to Boke. My feet are lovely now.

I would say give them a good soak and then peel peel peel. Do it when no one else is around though.

Sunnysidegold · 22/07/2019 16:34

SORRY! I said "bloody feet"....I was just swearing mildly....no bleeding was involved. Unless yours were super cheap I'd say you'll be ok. 😄
