My husband bathed the dog and.....

Nearly killed her!
Me and my DH are both on annual leave from our jobs this week and today while I was pottering around in the garden, he decided to bath the dog.
Due to the warm weather we bath her in the garden using a short hosepipe which is attached to the kitchen mixer tap so the water is warm.
I looked round to see the dog, which is a great dane, sat absolutely covered in suds, she looked like a giant sad faced French poodle!
I turned my attention back to trimming my bush. Arf, and left him to it.
Some time later I went inside and sat down with a well earned cup of tea and the dog was laid on the lounge floor, probably dying of shame at the dog next door laughing at her sad faced French poodle impersonation.
Dog decides to come to me because I have biscuits.
Except, every time she tried to move forward on the wood flooring, she did a dancing on ice impression. Legs going everywhere but moving nowhere! I was so fascinated that I almost held a card up with 10/10 for presentation and style 😂
My DH came into the room and told me that after her bath, while he was grooming her, he thought her pads felt rough and dry, so he had slathered them with my hand cream!!
Words failed me as I got a bowl of soapy water and a cloth and washed her paws clean.
I sometimes wonder how my DH single brain cell hasn't died of loneliness!

We moved from a flat with carpets to a house with wooden floors with our 2 cats
They soon discovered the stairs which had carpet on so pretty easy to sprint up, as you came down you faced a wall with the corridor running across, I will let you imagine what happened the first few times they ran down!

That's hilarious, even though it's daft it shows how much he cares about your pooch by moisturising her paws, that wouldn't cross some people's minds but there he is pampering her, well meant and as long as your dog wasn't hurt it's a very funny story. I love my dog and sing a silly song to him every day, he goes nuts and the neighbours probably think I am

This killed me off 😂😂😂

The idea of a sausage dog in wellies made my day DogAteTheSqueaker Grin

I googled for pictures but there don't seem to be any, disappointingly. Who knew how many wellies you could get with sausage dogs on them, though?!

MrsJackman1 · 18/07/2019 16:10

"Perhaps I have a sense of humour failure but it don’t find this remotely amusing. Your dog could could have easily broken a leg due to your DH’s stupidity. I wonder how you’d have felt if this was the case? Would you be laughing then? Apart from that, what if your dog had licked it’s paws and became unwell due to the whatever the hand cream contained? "

But, she didn't.

DogbertDogglesworth · 18/07/2019 18:27

I'm hiding my hands in case the dog licks my freshly hand creamed hands.
Don't worry, she's in good hands.

Or something 😉

I laughed like a loon at the thought of sausage dog in wellies too 😂

It's due to her not being hurt that I could laugh, as I said in a post above.

Disclaimer. No animals were harmed during this production

Even funnier is the thought of a dog eating a squeaker and barking like Donald Duck on helium 😂
