Marge2019 · 14/07/2019 15:02

Hi I was carrying my 4 year old on my back with a baby carrier. Called the twin go. But it go stolen. So I need a new carrier. But I'm having trouble finding one that I can use for a 4 year old. I really dont want one with a frame at I want to put it under the buggy when not using it. Any recommendations?

Unless SN surely a 4 Yr old should be walking? Or. Did u mean 4m.

ElspethFlashman · 14/07/2019 15:08

Why would you "baby wear" a preschooler?

The weight of them! Shock

amusedbush · 14/07/2019 15:08

Why do you need to put a 4yo in a carrier?

Tula toddlers are roomy and connecta/integral do a pre school size!! I have each of these in toddler and have found them very comfortable although I haven't used with for quite sometime!

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/07/2019 15:09

Is your 4 year old not going to school soon?

maddiemookins16mum · 14/07/2019 15:10

Jeezus, let the kid walk.

Camomila · 14/07/2019 15:17

Maybe try a camping shop? I don't know anyone that puts a three year old in a sling apart from my cousins who go hiking a lot. The DS walks and then gets put in a special rucksack carrier on his dads back when he gets tired.

Soola · 14/07/2019 15:20

Just give them a piggy back?

ScrambledToe · 14/07/2019 15:22

I have a wompat toddler. AMAZING!!

I used to carry my 4yr old too op, mainly because I have a dog and live in the Lake District and like walking up mountains.

Marge2019 · 14/07/2019 15:22

Hes 4 and has some sn. Having assessments for autism. Hes not in it constantly but if hes having a bad day and I need to be somewhere or if hes tired and we are having a long day of walking.

A manduca goes up to age 4. Integra size 3/connecta preschooler would be the right size. And toddler tulas are huge, I easily carry my tall 3.5 yr old. Or if you look on some facebook selling sites like slings and things fsot you may find some custom made preschooler carriers.

And don't listen to the nasty posters above judging for carrying a 4 year old. Even without any SN, a carrier is invaluable on long walks and at the airport with my DS.

Gunpowder · 14/07/2019 15:28

My 4 year old still fits in the Manduca. She’s not that big though.

Marge2019 · 14/07/2019 15:38

Thank you everyone I will google some of then carriers Smile

Wompat do a pre school one too

Cuppa12345 · 14/07/2019 15:51

A ring sling would work

Yellowweatherwarning · 14/07/2019 15:53

Just lifted my 4 yo in a shop for a few mins..
Fuck that!

NeverMindTheBuzzards · 14/07/2019 16:07

Would a woven wrap work for you? (If so, check out Geeky Wrappers on FB)

Shelley54 · 14/07/2019 16:09

Integra (set up by the Connecta people) do a pre-schooler version. It’s size 3.

I really despair at the ignorance of some of the people on the thread.

Sux2buthen · 14/07/2019 16:20

Ooh someone does something unusual to me, quick I must shit all over it! My opinion will change their lives!!Grin

RainOrSun · 14/07/2019 16:21

I hired a connecta toddler for my 2 year old one summer, and could easily carry the (slight) 4 year old. I'd imagine the preschool connecta would meet your needs.

Pomtastic · 14/07/2019 16:37

OP you could search for this group on Facebook:

Slings and Things - FSOT and advice

They're really helpful & non judgemental, lots of support & experience with carrying older/SN children :) plus cheap second hand carriers are sold there too! (FSOT means "for sale or trade")

Marge2019 · 14/07/2019 16:37

It's easy to carry a 4 year old on your back with a Carrier rather than just picking them up I cabt just pick my 4 year old up for long. But can back carrier him for ages
