A picture has appeared under my bed. Neither me or DH think it's ours. Wtf?

We're moving house. DH said to me, what do you want to do with the pictures under the bed?
I had no idea what he was on about. I never put pictures under the bed.

Sure enough, 7am this morning he drags out two dusty old frames from under the bed. I've never seen them in my life. One of them had a charcoal drawing of a woman called Rachel.
I've never clapped eyes on it before.

DH says they aren't his. He thinks I've lost my marbles and have a shit memory.

But I swear I've never seen them before. The picture was made in '92. I was 10.

How the fuck did they get there?!

When I moved in 5 years ago there were no pictures here. No other adults have stayed here and I know he kids wouldn't come up with massive frames with glass and a picture of a naked woman.

How did this happen?!

I know this is going to sound weirder but my friend had a very similar picture to that hanging up in his house...I’m going to PM you in case you know him!

It was done at a weekly life drawing class, by a beginner. The beginner was very proud of it, and put it in an old frame. I know these things Grin

It looks like a charity shop buy. Did one of you buy it for the frame, and forget to dump the picture?

Was your bed new or second hand? If second hand is there any chance at all they were somehow stored under it when you bought it and have fallen down onto the floor?!

If that's a self portrait by your husband of his nob, then I suggest he gets to the doctors.

If it's a portrait of Rachel I also suggest she gets to the doctors as she looks like a giant nob.

This is what keeps crossing my mind. Over and over.
But I couldn't have carried those upstairs. I never wouldn't have bought ones with glass. The frames are absolutely shite and I'd never consider mounting them on my wall and my DH would never buy frames in a million years.

As for DH pranking me, in the 21 years we have been together he has never pranked me. He isn't that kind of person. Plus, he was the one who had to fish it out from under the bed, take it down to the truck
and dump it. Who's he pranking?

Can someone who can see Rachel clearly, helpfully outline her and post the pic? I think I can see a woman with her arm over her face but when it comes to the body, all I can see is a giant seam up her middle and I don't know any women who look like that Confused

That’s definitely a picture someone in your or his family has done. You’d never in a million years see that in a charity shop and think ‘ooh, I’ll have that’.

I sincerely hope you plan to investigate this to it’s conclusion and update us accordingly.

@LillithsFamiliar the giant seam is Rachael’s muscular back. It’s a rear end drawing. She has her right elbow sort of poking towards the ‘artist’ and her left arm is up over her head.

🙄 No.
As I said in my OP he knew they were there because he moved the bed against the wall recently after the baby fell out if bed.
I don't know if that's the first time he discovered them though as he's always the bed mover. So I need to ask him when he's home.
He is not gaslighting me.

@LillithsFamiliar I think it's her back so the 'seam' is her backbone. Also I think she has only one leg.

Rachel looks like she’s gripping a sheet between her arsecheeks in that second picture. That’ll need washing.

Do you have family round much? I can only think someone’s asked to store them there (or given them as a particularly shit present but let’s not go down that road and have to figure out why family dislike you Wink)
