Reasons for being up early

Pascha · 13/07/2019 05:43

Ds1 vomited all over my bedroom at 4am.
Ds2 wet the bed at 5am.
DH is cleaning stuff upstairs, I'm supervising downstairs. Motor racing on one telly, DanTDM on the other. Sick bowl etc in place. The house stinks, even the cat has buggered off out.

I have Brew. I am not awake...

Oh no! That's a terrible start to the weekend. I'm up because Twin A woke up Twin B. A has now gone back to sleep and I am trying to keep B quiet.

Youvegotafriendinme · 13/07/2019 05:50

Morning! Been awake since around 3:00am. In hospital waiting to have my gallbladder out and had the worse nights sleep. Woken at 11pm with new patient coming in, 12am new patients family leave fucking loudly 1:30am another new patient comes in and the porters and staff do their best to do it as loudly as possible. 3:00am my neighbour wakes in pain screaming for medicines. I’m now awake and can’t get back to sleep. Few more instances between 3:00 and now and everyone’s back to sleep snoring away and I’m wide awake! Angry

Silversky70 · 13/07/2019 05:51

Husband's new phone screeching out an alarm at 4.50 from downstairs whilst he's passed out on sofa. I'm so fucking angry. At least it didn't wake kids up, but I'm shattered. I have to get up at 5.30 every week day. I had a late night, and we're out tonight. Feel shit. Rant over.

YouJustDoYou · 13/07/2019 05:51

Oh, bless you. I remember one particular horror of a night where all three were sick. Husband was away so I slept inbetween two of them with the door open to hear the third. So much vomit and so little sleep that night 😣

SavageBeauty73 · 13/07/2019 05:51

My puppy woke up for a wee at 5am. All my teenagers are snoring upstairs. Puppies really are like newborns 🐶

Hope the sick bug passes soon 😷

Furble · 13/07/2019 05:55

DS2 (6 weeks) did an epic poo and needed hosing down and then feeding. Managed not to wake the toddler!

Flowers To those of you having surgery today and with DCs that are unwell.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 13/07/2019 05:55

Honestly nowadays 7am is a huge lie in in our house.

Seven week old baby makes noises akin to that of one of the Wights from GoT every morning 0430 without fail, no reason, not hungry, no poops.

This kicks off DS in the other room who starts babbling at 0500

Which in turn wakes DD1 who’s out of her bed and wanting breakfast at 0530.

Every fecking morning.

Nowadays I don’t spend any money on booze, I spend it on posh coffee with a colossally high caffeine content Grin

MustStopSnacking28 · 13/07/2019 06:01

I am up to go to the airport for a business trip to Dubai. I’m looking forward to seeing a new place but I’m mainly up so early because I’m going to miss my DS so much Sad first time leaving him.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 13/07/2019 06:01

Though I have to say that this morning chatty toddler DS has only JUST started to demand I go pick him up. Looked at the clock and realised this is a win.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 13/07/2019 06:07

DS2 (23 months) has an internal clock that goes off at 5.20 every morning. If it’s before CBeebies has started, it’s too bloody early. He does not agree and I’m mainly just happy he finally sleeps through the night. This is minor in comparison to many of the reasons above I realise. Hope the bug passes soon.

wineandsunshine · 13/07/2019 06:08

Up all night with DS having tummy pain, toilet trips, medication given...think I managed an hour sleep in total 😩
I'm not sure what is wrong! Zzzzzzzz

Mummy2one2016 · 13/07/2019 06:12

Husband was up for work at 4.45 which woke my 3 year old who got up 5minutes later. 3 year old went down at 9pm ish and has a party at 12. He is a non napper, it's going to be a long day. Does any one else kids class 8 hours as a full sleep 😴

UncomfortableSilence · 13/07/2019 06:15

I'm awake cause I just can't seem to sleep past 4am, I'm so so tired all the time. Plus I have a bastarding snoring DH who I'm about ready to divorce if he doesn't do something about it.

Thanks to those unwell.

norbert23 · 13/07/2019 06:16

DD (4) woke me up at 4am because she had a bad dream about a dinosaur. Took forever to go back to sleep and because I'm enormously round and pregnant I can't pick her up and get her back in bed. So I have her feet in my face and am just trying to enjoy the quiet...

RaymondReddington · 13/07/2019 06:18

DD had a nightmare and screaming at 4.50am 😴 apparently, as she was walking down the path, a man grabbed her and threw her in the road calling her a “stupid fat chicken poo face” 🤷🏼‍♀️

Unlike her to have bad dreams and wake that early. After an hour of tossing and turning I’ve sent her downstairs to watch TV whilst I am on MN Grin she’s nearly old enough to make a brew.... 🤔🤔🤔

Pipandmum · 13/07/2019 06:20

My son woke me up (though he was trying to be really quiet) as he wanted to go over to his girlfriend to give her a goodbye hug as she’s off on holiday this morning! Young love...(but then the dogs woke up needing to go outside and I needed a wee too so now I’m wide awake checking out MN...)

BringOnTheScience · 13/07/2019 06:23

Sending very unMNy positive thoughts to those up for horrid reasons.

I'm up early because the Brownies starting chatting at 5.25. There are only so many rounds of "Be Quiet and Go Back to Sleep" that you can do before you give up with >20 of them. One room are still silent though at 6.20.

Pascha · 13/07/2019 06:25

@Youvegotafriendinme oh no Sad gallbladder pain is awful. When my mum had it they thought it was a heart attack at first as the pain was so bad. Hope you manage to get some sleep soon.

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 13/07/2019 06:25

Mine is a good reason.
I'm collecting youngest dd from uni today. Home for the summer ☺ Then a new in the garden this evening! Lovely

BobTheFishermansWife · 13/07/2019 06:28

My 4 day old started to stir at 4.30am, I woke up to his noises and thought, brilliant I'll get him up and fed him now before he makes more noise... NEVER AGAIN he screamed blue murder and took an hour before I could calm him enough to get a decent latch fit him to feed.
Woke my dp up who is now unconscious on the sofa after providing tea and toast. Our devil spawn angelic babe is again feeding but won't take my right breast, milk came in yesterday morning so it's engorged and lumpy and sore. And no amount of hand expressing is helping matters 😭 I feel a painful weekend ahead.

Hope everyone that's feeling ill and has ops due recover fast and feel better soon.

Pascha · 13/07/2019 06:30

@wineandsunshine we're in the same boat it seems. Have some Brew to keep you going.

Flowers to all with small children, babies, dogs, errant partners making this early morning hard.

EmmaJR1 · 13/07/2019 06:30

No reason at all... I just woke up! The babies and ddog are still sleeping for once... 🙄

Dollywilde · 13/07/2019 06:31

Sorry to anyone who is up early for horrid reasons Flowers

Me? Apparently I’ve reached a point in my life where I can’t sleep past 6.30, because that is when my alarm goes off Mon - Fri. I’ve basically just trained myself and now I’m awake every day at this time, whether I need to be or not. I don’t even have kids Blush

Pascha · 13/07/2019 06:32

4 days old?... It gets easier I promise.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/07/2019 06:33

Dh was short of breath so woke me at 5am. On the upside I’ve put the dw on, the white wash, run the robo hoover round and used my new spray mop!.
