Hi folks,

Amazon Prime Day is now live. The name is slightly misleading as the event actually lasts until Tuesday 16 July.

For the uninitiated, Prime Day is when Amazon offer Prime members exclusive discounts on all sorts of things.

We know it’s not for everyone but, if you’re hoping to bag a bargain this year, you’ve come to the right place. Let us know what you're looking for and we will do our best to sort the wheat from the chaff and hunt down a good deal. As always, feel free to share any great buys you spot yourself, too.

To get you started here are a few deals we think are particularly good:

Oral-B SmartSeries 6500 CrossAction Electric Toothbrush - was £92.95, now £54.99

6” waterproof Kindle Paperwhite - was £119.99, now £79.99

Amazon Echo Show 5 - was £79.99, now £49.99

90 Finish All in 1 Max Dishwasher Tablets - was £13.20, now £8.99 (not the most exciting but a nice saving)

Apple iPhone XR (64GB) - was £749, now £639]]

40% off selected Lego (including Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Lego Movie 2)

Xbox One S 1TB All Digital Console + Extra Controller + FIFA 19 (Download code) - bundle price £314.97, now £169.99

You do need to be a Prime member to take part and Amazon are offering £20 off a yearly membership until 16 July (£59 instead of £79). There is also a 30-day free trial (sign up here) if you don’t fancy paying for membership but still want access to the deals.

Remember, if you don’t want to pay after the event, you can follow our handy guide on how to cancel Prime.

You can have a gander at any early deals on the Prime Day hub.

We might add a link into your post if we think it would be helpful to other users.

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

@HannahGMumsnet thank you

sqeakywheel · 15/07/2019 17:47

Thank you for reminding me it was prime day. Just bought ambre solaire sun cream for £3:80 a bottle!

TheSproutOfWrath · 15/07/2019 17:50

Excellent. I've just signed up for the tenner and got a wifi extension gizmo for a fiver.

icebearforpresident · 15/07/2019 18:22

I’m getting a jump start on my Christmas shopping for the kids and fancy a dolls styling head for my youngest if anyone spots one coming up.

Mollypolly2610 · 15/07/2019 18:26

Anybody seen an offer on Revitive circulation boosters please!!!

serenoa · 15/07/2019 18:32

Two of these security cameras was a planned purchase to go with the nearly full-priced door bell I bought a month ago.

A happy camper here. Grin

Wishiwaswonderwoman87 · 15/07/2019 18:52

Looking for a 2ds XL. None on prime sale Sad

LookMumNoFeet · 15/07/2019 19:17

@Soola
The bin is no longer available at that price - boo!

Does anybody know if things get discounted again during the two days? Worth keeping an eye on it?

GymboScaresMe · 15/07/2019 19:53

I’m in the market for a steam cleaner and a non-stick pan set if anyone spots either of those!

rockingchaircandle · 15/07/2019 19:56

Amazon workers are striking in multiple countries. Globally they have some horrific working conditions.

(Before the environmental consequences of the type of consumerism that Prime Day fuels are factored in).

Show your solidarity,

forgo the bargain,

buy nothing!

BarmyBitchNeighbour · 15/07/2019 19:56

@BeyondDangerousTshirts did you get bulbs?

BarmyBitchNeighbour · 15/07/2019 19:58

I’m desperado for a Nest (not a Hive or Tado) but doubt it’ll go on offer.

Theghosttrain · 15/07/2019 20:06

In general, items purchased via Prime can be bought cheaper elsewhere (including other sellers on Amazon). That means paying twice for the 'privilege' of next day delivery. These Prime days encourages people to buy stuff they don't need and can't afford, in the hope of bagging a bargain. This thread is just a Prime advert really, disguised as a normal MN thread.

cupoftea84 · 15/07/2019 21:16

DH dithered about buying a robotic grass cutter that was 1/3 off and now the deal has disappeared. Earlier amazon said it was available until midnight.
Does anyone know if these things come back? Bit disappointed for him really.

caffeinebuzz · 15/07/2019 21:50

I've already nabbed a couple of bargains, but still looking for a balance bike for DD

Goforitgirl · 15/07/2019 21:50

@caffeinebuzz I definitely saw one earlier

caffeinebuzz · 15/07/2019 21:55

@Goforitgirl Oooh, I hope I haven't missed it! Scarring over to Amazon right now

ReeReeR · 15/07/2019 22:11

Some good deals! I’m looking for a new vacuum, headphones and a small freestanding mirror (I’ve seen some of the sharks are on offer). I’ve just signed up for the trial. Annoying as I purchased something earlier today and paid for next day delivery...

Graphista · 16/07/2019 05:19

I'm possibly in the market for:

New Bluetooth speaker possibly a fit as mine on last legs and I mainly use a kindle fire for watching telly/steaming and the speaker on it isn't very loud.

Robo/very very slimline Hoover JUST for my bedroom which is tiny and murder to clean! Even a cylinder Hoover I struggle to manoeuvre in it! Especially as I have a disability

Debating a new fire kindle as this one 2-3 years old and a little glitchy at times.

FrankieGMumsnet · 16/07/2019 08:21

Good morning @Mollypolly2610, there are a couple of options for the boosters:

Revitive IX Circulation Booster, was £214,48, now £146.99

Revitive Advanced Performance Circulation Booster, was £219, now £153.99

FrankieGMumsnet · 16/07/2019 08:28

@GymboScaresMe, for non-stick pans there is a 5 piece Tefal set for £30.99 (was £38.00) or a 5 piece Tower pan set for £47.99 (was £66.99).

For steam cleaners, there is currently 40% off selected floorcare which includes a Karcher SC2 EasyFix steam cleaner for £79.99 (was £109.99).

EgremontRusset · 16/07/2019 08:40

I’m after noise cancelling headphones, and a little wildlife camera for the end of the garden - not sure if those are typical MN wishes though!

FrankieGMumsnet · 16/07/2019 08:40

@ReeReeR the 40% off floor care includes a number of vacuums (Shark, Hoover, Bosch). The deepest discount appears to be on the Shark cordless - was £357.45 now £199.99.

There is 30% off a large range of Beats, Bose, Sennheiser, and Jabra headphones.

We can't find a good freestanding mirror yet but will keep a lookout.

FrankieGMumsnet · 16/07/2019 08:48

@Graphista not sure if it is slim enough but the Eufy robovac is still discount - was £269.99, now £178.99. There is also an ILife vac for £97.99 (was £139.99) which has positive reviews.

As a replacement Bluetooth speaker, how about a portable Anker speaker for £23.99 (was £29.99)?
