Chillys Bottles

Are they really worth the money or are the replica types just as effective? Just seen an identical looking bottle in Tesco for £10.
I am a bit HmmShock at the price of a Chilly one but it is something I would use all the time.
Opinions please.

I’ve just bought one of the Tesco ones on Monday and it’s doing a good job of keeping cold things cold.

I got a chilly's one on sale and I love it but it's basically a fancy looking vacuum flask so I would imagine they're all the same.

It does keep water icy from morning to night but as I'm usually drinking it and refilling it, it doesn't need to be that good.

I've got a chillies bottle and I love it, I've had it a year now and carry it everywhere and it shows little signs of wear and tear.
My boys have replica ones and they haven't lasted at all although obviously I can't compare what they do to them to what I do, I'm sure that a bashed around a fair bit.
I think if you can afford it then go for the chillis, cost per use it's worth it.

A few months ago they did 50% off and I bought one and honestly it's one of the best things I've ever purchased! I use it every single day

I bought one at 50% off and I love it.

I don't know about the replica ones but dd has a s'well bottle and it isn't as good imo.

My dds and I have them.
They are really good, mine kept ice from 7am until 3pm (I ate it as and when it got small enough to fit through the top, it would have lasted longer had I not) after being out in the sun all day on sports day.
I don’t know about the other brands, I’m sure they all do the same thing though really.
I will be getting DS one for his next school.

I have a replica one that i got from TK Maxx. It works just the same as DH's Chilly one.

We have 3 Chillies and two almost identical from the National Trust.

Both the NT ones leak and fail to keep water cold.

2-3 years after purchase the Chillies are perfect, they have been knocked about being dropped etc, but still keep water chilled and soup hot.

You really get what you pay for in this respect.

I have a replica from Amazon and dont use it - water from it tastes strangely metallic and sets my teeth on edge. Maybe that's just me. Not had a real chillys to compare it to though.

I absolutely love my Chillys EB bottle. I had a replica from Tesco, dropped it and it was useless. I dropped, bashed and scraped my chillys one and it's still perfect. Well worth the money

I have a Sho one from Amazon, it does a brilliant job with cold drinks. I used it Sunday and noticed that the outside was hot to touch after we'd been sitting in the sun yet there were still ice cubes inside.

I'm not sure I'd put coffee in it despite it claiming to keep hot drinks hot, simply because it looks like it'd be awkward to drink, but I put boiling water in as an experiment and it was still quite hot 24 hours later.

I have a Simple Modern bottle from amazon and its great. I left it in the car with coffee in it and it was still hot the next morning. It doesn't leak either. Not the same brand I know.

I've got a Chillys one, it's a 750 ml and it's heavy. Also I keep pouring water down my face because of the wide neck. My kids keep nicking it.

I've got a Systema one and it keeps things piping hot or freezing cold forna couple of hours even in full sun, haven't tried it for longer yet. For hot drinks, I take along an enamel mug that the bottle sits inside and pour into that to avoid scalds.

My Chilly’s bottle is great. It doesn’t leak and it keeps water really cold all day. I’ve had so many different water bottles but this is one I’d repurchase if I lost or broke it (although it seems pretty indestructible). All the others have ended up leaking, but this one’s been watertight for well over 6 months - and it seems (fingers crossed) it’ll last for much longer.

As a PP said, though, it is heavy.

Chillys here too. Bought the kids one each for Easter. The designs are lovely and they really do what they claim. They’ve been dropped and banged to and had no adverse effects. Def keep water cold even in the sun all day. Bought more styles when they did 50% off too so we now have 5 between 3 of us !!

Stupid question but is it easy to drink directly out of them or do you have to pour it into a glass?

Dd2's replica one lasted about 2 weeks, before the bottom casing cracked. Dd1's has lasted longer bit looks very bashed up and definitely doesn't seem to keep the water as cold. When they got some Amazon vouchers they got Chilly's and they are great.

Wilco dupes are brilliant. Had them ages, work brilliantly and look as good as new.

I drink directly put of mine but I'm usually at work or uni with it. It is massive (holds a litre) and is quite heavy but it's held up to nearly a year of daily abuse and still looks great.

I suspect they're all much of a muchness tbh.

I bought one with a pattern on it and sent it back because it was stuck on wrong and looked a mess. The colour was faded around the bottom where the wrapped pattern had been stretched. It also had a strong metallic smell and was quite heavy. I was disappointed in it.

I'd get a copy if you like them but wouldn't pay the full price for a proper one. I got a Hip bottle instead. It isn't a keep cool flask, just a bottle with silicone cover, but much lighter, looks nice and it's well made.

I've got a Chilli bottle. I work in a school in a very hot classroom and it keeps my cold drinks incredibly cold.
I gasp every time one of my children knock it to the floor because they are pricey but fingers crossed, it hasn't dented yet.
I bought my daughter something similar online because she liked the colour and hers has dented already.

Chillys bottles are brilliant. I feel mine with ice (the long, thin ice sticks, you can buy the ice trays really cheaply), then fill it with water from the fridge. I recently left mine in the car by mistake for 2 days in the blazing sun and the ice still hadn't melted. IMO, they're worth every penny. I've also got a cheap version from Wilkos. It's okay I guess but nowhere near as good. Chillys bottles are brilliant.

I bought middle DD one for school as you can have name/initials engraved on. It's lasted almost a full school year so far & has been dropped a million times. The lid is a bit bashed but still working perfectly. I'm hoping it will last her through the whole school!

l've recently got a 750ml Chilly's one as l work 9 hours shifts at work, so it gets filled at home before l leave. lt's still cold when l get home (if there's any left), so that's verging on 12 hours. lt's very sturdy and solid, and l can imagine it'll be quite resilient. Very happy with it, and l've had some lovely comments on it (l got the rose gold one).
