Can anyone help me work this out?

I have seen an arm chair for sale it's 94cm x 95cm x 70cm. I have measured my boot (touran). 2.5m long but only 90cm wide and tall at widest, tallest points. Will I get the chair in the boot?

Nope

thelonggame · 03/07/2019 20:19

no it won't fit, you're boot is 4cm too narrow.

Jojo19834 · 03/07/2019 20:19

Sadly the chair on two dimensions is bigger than your height or width so just won’t go. If length was the issue you could tie the boot down but it’s the height/width dilemma. Good on you for checking first tho!

Thanks....wondering if there's now 4cm of squashability in the chair....!!! Boot is taller than 90 but has annoying design feature that dips down the in middle for about 6 cm in the roof grrrrr

actually you should have enough clearance to get it in if you tilt it.

thelonggame · 03/07/2019 20:27

make yourself a scale couple of pieces of paper - and you'll be able to work out if putting the chair in at an angle will work.

SparklyMagpie · 03/07/2019 20:29

just make sure to PIVOT!!!

ohhdearyme · 03/07/2019 20:30

If you want it that bad.....it'll fit (trust me)

@thelonggame I have considered this....I'm measuring the widest part of the boot and reporting back...

OP posts:
nevernotstruggling · 03/07/2019 20:45

This is the boot. The 90cm is the narrowest and shortest part - so the rest is wider

Can anyone help me work this out?

Given your second post the dippy bit in the middle may be able to be accommodated by the seat part - so it kind of goes in and then angles?
The bit with arms and seat do allow for some juggling. It’s not a cube.
No matter it looks v tight. Good luck.

TooMinty · 03/07/2019 20:49

Tie it onto the roof of the car?

HeronLanyon · 03/07/2019 20:50

Yes pivot not jiggle. I am thinking it may work at a kind of 45 degree angle. ???

HeronLanyon · 03/07/2019 20:51

Do the feet unscrew?

cakeallday · 03/07/2019 20:56

I used to have a Touran. Won't the fact that all the seats fold down and some move forward help at all? Just thinking it could give you some pivot room!

P.s. miss my Touran Grin

HarrietSchulenberg · 03/07/2019 21:06

Unless the armchair is actually a sofa it really should go in a Zafira boot with the seats flat. I'd try it at an angle and curl it in.

nevernotstruggling · 03/07/2019 21:09

@HarrietSchulenberg it's not a zafira though!

OP posts:
nevernotstruggling · 03/07/2019 21:10

@cakeallday yes - the boot length is 25 metres there's no issue theee

OP posts:
nevernotstruggling · 03/07/2019 21:11

The rough diagonal boot width is about 130....

HarrietSchulenberg · 03/07/2019 21:12

Sorry, Nevernotstruggling, I thought I read Zafira somewhere upthread. I might need to find my reading glasses Blush.

nevernotstruggling · 03/07/2019 21:25

@HarrietSchulenberg I was awfully confused then!!

OP posts:
HeronLanyon · 03/07/2019 21:26

Not as confused as I am by your ‘25 metre’ boot !! Grin

WifOfBif · 03/07/2019 21:27

Am I the only one laughing at the ‘PIVOT’ comment?

nevernotstruggling · 03/07/2019 21:36

@HeronLanyon fark. Typo

SparklyMagpie · 03/07/2019 22:28

@WifOfBif THANK YOU!!!!

I was starting to feel abit down as it's gone so unnoticed 😂😂😂 you have put a smile on my face. Now I know not to think I'm being a comedian and expecting everyone to be spitting their drinks out or waking their babies
