How did you meet your DP?

I just love hearing people's stories! So my question is where did you meet your DP and how did you end up being in a relationship?

Mines quite boring, we met at school, he was the year above and we've now been together around 15 years and had our first baby earlier this year. Not married (for no particular reason) and still very happy - just hope it stays this way!

I love these stories, I can't wait to have one of my own!

We worked together years ago and got back in touch via a Facebook group that was set up as a nostalgia group for people that worked by for that Bank from decades ago.

Lots of catching up messages and then met up and got married very quickly.

Met at 15 he told me I was far too young. Reconnected at 17 and that was it..married at 21..Celebrating our 40th anniversary soon still in love with 2 ds and 3 grandchildren

I found him in a nightclub 🙂 wouldn’t give him my number I took his and phoned him the next day (pre mobiles)

I arranged to meet him but had to ask my friend what he looked like as I was really really drunk the night we originally met.

Been together 23 years married 18 with 4 children 💕

My DH worked with my BIL. He said his friend wanted to see a particular film, and I said "oh, I'm going to see that, ask him if he wants to come with me". That was 46 years ago, and we've been married for 44!

At university.
My gay housemate fancied him and I was sent to 'butter him up'. Turns out, he wasn't gay, and we hit it off!
We've been together for 18 years now.
I lost touch with my gay housemate about 17 years ago....
He wasn't happy.

He was my boss 😳

I took a part-time job while I was doing my MA, and on my first day spotted some Warhammer models in the staff room with paints all set out. I asked whose they were, and was told the deputy manager (who I hadn't met yet). When he walked in later and I saw that he was 6'5" I pretty much knew (I'm 6' so tall is a big plus point!).

He said he knew the first time he noticed my Star Trek tattoo. Ten years married, and two DC's later we're still going strong. It was a match made in geek heaven 😁

He interviewed me for a job.

I'd arrived driving the massive van used for the temporary role I was in at the time, having got changed out of overalls into a suit. I had to do some very precise reversing into a tight space. I realised that quite an audience had gathered at the windows to watch. The looks on their faces were absolute pictures as this little suited young women stepped out. I took a bow and went in for interview.

Apparently, the job was mine from that point as they knew I'd fit in well. Six months later, he asked me out.

Met him at 14, him 17 - together for about 9 years, engaged, living together and split up. I sent him a FB message 18 years later, he was living in Germany, he came over to UK within a few weeks to visit and catch up, we are now married 5 years with a DS together and 3 DC from my first marriage. He never married or had kids because he wasn't with me (or so he likes to tell me )

We were both venture scouts. Met at 17 and married at 21. Still together at 40.

Some 40 years ago - last night of my holiday on a very romantic island.

Got married 5 months later.

Met in Jan 2004, married in August, first child born the following June, DC2 arrived in 2007.
I was 36 when we met and had only just split with my ex after finding out he was cheating. No kids on either side

Tinder. He sent me a dinosaur joke and I laughed.

We lived in the same house and I tried to set him up with someone else. Month later we kissed. Now been together 6 years

My ex GF set us up as she thought we would make an amazing couple. 20 years and 2 kids later....

OH came to our workplace to tender to service our machines.

He came bouncing in after our boss and I jokingly said " ooh I'll have him"

That was 22 odd years ago, he came to live with me 9 years ago

He had been my boss. Admittedly not for long and he was longer my boss when we got together.

We met at work. The company we both work for had staff across 2 different sites and had made the decision to close both and transfer everyone into a new central office. A "getting to know you" party was held, I knew who DH was at this point but hadn't really ever spoken to him properly before. We got chatting, swapped numbers and went on our first date the following weekend. We've been together ever since - that was ten years ago now. We've been married for 6 years and have two DCs.

Both to,the same community project. Met in March 2001 and got together on on New Year's Eve that year. Married in 2004.

Playing a very geeky trading card game (mtg, ravnica two headed giant prerelease tournament).

There was a weekly tournament in the same place. I went back the next week and flirted outrageously until he asked me out.

That was 12 years ago. Dc is five now and just starting to get into the pokemon tcg.

It appears to be in the genes!

Knew him as friend of an ex and we used to go out sometimes as a foursome.

I was 22, he was in our favourite pub one night at a Halloween party, we never spoke, I was with 2 friends dressed as a French maid and a bit too pissed and a bit stoned, making a fool of myself (dancing on the bar at one point downing a bottle of Newcastle brown ale - classy 😳).

We were staying at a friends parents house that night and he was sober and driving, watched us go to leave and as we were a bit wobbly made sure we all got home safely, he half carried me upstairs to friends room without her parents hearing, then left. He called my parents house a couple of days later (pre mobile phones) when he found out my telephone number to ask if I was ok and if I would like to go for a drink 🤮, we went for a walk instead. That was 28 years ago!!

We met at school, have been together since we were 15 and 17.

Been together 11 years now and getting married this summer! Hoping to have a baby soon too! X
