Mine is nigella!Grin

I just love everything about her and her food. Her recipes always turn out perfect for me and I love how in depth her books are and the little descriptions with each recipe.

Jamie also has a half go success rate here, kids love everything I’ve ever made by him, but the long lists of ingredients can make feeding a large family very expensive l, and I don’t mind spending a fair bit on food!

Tom kerridge recipes are nice but I can’t watch him on tv, his wet mouth and chunky thighs make me feel Envy.

Who’s recipes never fail for you and who do you love watching?

Keith Floyd.

Brilliant. There was a time he was on some superluxurious train travelling through south africa. Got steadily pissed, then decided he was going to cook. Went to the kitchen, booted out the staff and started with fire and herbs everywhere.

Must find it and watch again.

Nigella, she's just lovely and her recipes work, Nigel Slater, Ina 'good vanilla' Garten (amazing peanut butter brownies), HFW and probably lots of others (not Jamie oliver or Gordon Ramsay though)
I love cookery books and comfort read them.

Not so much a celeb chef but Julia Child - the best Reine de Saba there is

Raymond Blanc.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 28/06/2019 22:24

I want not to say him but I do love a Jamie
Oliver recipe and his shoes.
Lorraine Pascal I also adore

(I cannot bear a Gordon Ramsay recipe, the amount of ingredients is insane, and Raymond Blanc, maybe it’s the datedness of the shows but he and the food looks dirty.)

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 28/06/2019 22:24

Shows not shoes grrr

Elderflower14 · 28/06/2019 22:27

Mary Berry... Also the fab Jean Christophe Novelli. Ds2 and I met JCN a few years ago when he judged ds2 in a dog show. He put him 2nd.
I had a chat after with JCN. Told him ds2 loved cooking. He gave ds2 a signed cook book and apron.
Ds2 was meant to write to thank him for the gifts but due to his autism he thanked him for putting him and ddog 2nd. JCN then wrote a lovely letter back with a signed pic of him with his dogs and said how much he remembered meeting ds2 and what they had done together. He sent two more aprons with instructions to give me one which I wear with pride.
Ds2s opinion of JCN?
"I like him better than that old Ramsey Mumma. Jean Christophe don't swear!!!" 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Nigella is just a living Jennifer Saunders sketch.

schoolcook · 28/06/2019 22:55

Rachel Khoo
Michel Roux Junior

Pavlova31 · 28/06/2019 23:06

David Crichton runner up on Masterchef.Very talented.
He is now making delicious chocolate bars.

CORSACORSA · 28/06/2019 23:13

James Martin. I could easily ride him, then he would cook me a meal.

goingtotown · 29/06/2019 00:26

Whatever happened to Gary Rhodes is he still a chef?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/06/2019 09:10

I love Heston Blumenthal Christmas programmes where he cooks a meal based on his childhood memories and travels miles to source his ingredients.
Then the trials and the planning to get it right.

I have to admit to buying a glass teapot after that show Blush even though I don't actually drink tea...

Anyone remember Ross Burden? He and Gino used to spark off each other on Ready Steady Cook . All show and bluster but entertaining .

EstherLittle · 29/06/2019 09:20

My DH calls Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall Huge Furry Knitting Stool. I like his Veg Everyday book when I go on my occasional veggie health kicks.

I like Nigella’s Christmas Book for the pictures and general fantasy Christmas poncing.

Mabellavender · 29/06/2019 10:10

Huge furry knitting stool GrinGrinGrin

Don’t get the James Martin thing. He’s seems like he’d be miserable in real life and he’s too chubby for taste.

My taste!

Recipes - Delia Smith
Eye candy - Marcus Wareing
Love to watch - Nigel Slater, Raymond Blanc
Cakes - Mary Berry except she uses Stork instead of butter in her sponges which is an abomination

Can't stand the sight of Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver, James Martin or Tom Kitchen.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 29/06/2019 12:09

I like Tom Kerridge’s recipes and I admire his weight loss.
I like Michael Caines.

Don’t like Nigella or Gordon Ramsay. I lost respect for HFW after the programme about the use of plastic and the environment. The irony of travelling thousands of miles on a plane to look at a mountain of plastic. Just wrong.

Peitho · 29/06/2019 12:12

It's funny that Tom Kerridge lost his weight following a low carb diet and released a cook book on the subject but his TV show is based around low calorie eating.

PutyourtoponTrevor · 29/06/2019 12:14

So we can call Jamie Oliver a prick, Nigella fake and everything else, but we can't say we don't like Tom Kerridge?

Mabellavender · 29/06/2019 14:05

I don’t know why everyone hates Jamie, he can be a bit sanctimonious but I admire his work ethic and how devoted he seems to his family.

cantfindname · 29/06/2019 14:27

Can't stand JO.

Love Tom Kerridge, Michel Roux, Marcus Wareing, Monica Galetti and Ree Drummond (apart from her fixed smile!) Ina Garten makes me laugh, her recipes are so far out of reach of normal people.

I used to love the Two Fat Ladies. Not so much their cooking but their adventures and their old-fashioned outlook on everything. They were fun.

midsomermurderess · 29/06/2019 14:44

I'm just going to say it, I don't like Tom Kerridge's accent. is it Bristol? I also thought his tv programme was at odds with his own weight-loss philosophy. I like Jamie Oliver, Hairy Bikers and Rick Stein's travel cookers shows.

HairyToity · 29/06/2019 15:35

Tom Kerridge fan here.

TeaAddict235 · 29/06/2019 16:05

Same here @cantfindname , I used to love the Two Fat Ladies for their spirit and zest, their cooking was very much secondary for me.

Love Hugh Fernly Whittingstall, especially back in the Escape to River cottage days.

Also love Rick Stein and how there is always an adventure to be had, whether it is a barge to hop on, a gondola or a rickshaw to navigate. I like his adventurous spirit.
