Doorbell Update

For those following my doorbell in the night post. A little update for you. After I had the Ring Doorbell installed the calls stopped immediately. The police explained who the callers were likely to be as linked to an ongoing case for a previous tenant in a neighbouring flat. I had been given an ornament to put outside my flat by them and the callers mistook my flat for there’s. Without going into too much detail. The callers were not filled with good intention and I removed the ornament at the same time as the Ring doorbell was installed so could also be a reason they stopped calling

However. Last night I heard the doorbell go several times. It wasn’t showing as motion and the alert didn’t come up on my phone. I heard the doorbell coming from my wardrobe and searched it this morning and found nothing. Very odd and not sure if connected. I thought at first I was dreaming that I heard the doorbell, but I woke at 2.30 and whilst awake it went again and definitely coming from somewhere in my room. Very odd and not sure what to think. A haunted wardrobe perhaps lol.

Thank you for your responses and support on the previous thread. I wanted to update you as I know how frustrating it is when a thread vanished and people who were following it don’t know the outcome.

I'm glad it's stopped but I am very confused re the "ornament" ??? And the doorbell in the wardrobe ? Is that code for some type of drug ?

What room does your wardrobe back on to? Is there any chance you were hearing someone else’s doorbell going? Did you dispose of your old WiFi doorbell or is it still somewhere in your home? Ours used to randomly go off at all hours and we had to bin it.

I'm very confused by the "ornament".

you told us yourself in your previous thread that you were too trusting so now I'm wondering if you put something outside that was designed to get you into some scary scheme!

as for doorbell ringing from inside the wardrobe....!

Was the ornament from the person that they were actually trying to target? And the person ringing the bell recognised it as belonging to the person they were looking for and assumed they live at your address? Is that right?

As for the sound coming from the wardrobe - no idea.

The ornament was given to me. Actually they places it by my front door which was directly next to their front door when they moved. The neighbours were a nice elderly couple. Very friendly and I had known them a couple of years. It was their son who was the intended target. He didn’t live their or for my knowledge had even been to stay with them but for whatever reason he had given his parent address as his own.

The ornament made ‘visitors’ beleive that my door was their door if that makes sense.

There are a lot of things I don’t understand but as long as it stops which it has I am happy

The previous doorbell is in the kitchen draw. I unplugged it but it had a battery operated receiver too. I wonder if I have inadvertently put that in my wardrobe somewhere and it’s telling me the battery is low. That would make sense. Except for it only going off between 2 and 3 in the morning

2-3 am is when all toy batteries die and the toys start unexpectedly so it makes sense that is when the doorbell battery died as well!
