Aunt Flo

I’ve just seen a woman on FB complaining she’s feeling bloated “because of Aunt Flo”. Hoping against hope that this was a complaint about the cooking of an elderly relative, I did just check on Google and my worst fears were confirmed.

She meant her period.

What’s the weirdest euphemism you’ve heard someone use about their period?

Before this, the weirdest I’d heard was “got the painters in”

On the rag. Confused Awful term. All those euphemisms are equally bad.

I had an ex who used to call it 'blob time'. I bloody hated that phrase.

Aunt flo is well known. I hated when the boys would say on the rag.

YouJustDoYou · 23/06/2019 21:22

Oh yeah, and "on the blob". Made you feel shit and disgusting when they'd laugh at you whilst saying it.

Aunt Flo is awful, I hadn't heard it until venturing into mn.

Having the decorators in has to be up there.

The Curse

My own mother used that term when telling me all about periods and what will happen.

needless to say I was absolutely terrified and thought it meant I was going to die or something very bad would happen to me.

My own DD has known they are called periods from an early age.
