Why are there two photos on my phone, taken today, that I did not take?

Weird. There are two pictures on my phone camera that I most definitely did not take today. I have no idea who these people are and they were taken at 11.28 this morning when I was in my house, not on a train which is where the photos were taken!

WTF?

Check WhatsApp or FB messenger? They sometimes download photos automatically when someone sends them through

UrsulaPandress · 22/06/2019 18:14

Spooky.

NeutralJanet · 22/06/2019 18:14

Does your WhatsApp automatically save pictures that people send you?

Crustaceans · 22/06/2019 18:15

Have you got cloud photo sharing with someone?

BenWillbondsPants · 22/06/2019 18:20

They've definitely not been sent to me via WhatsApp or messenger and no cloud sharing with anyone else! I have no idea who these people are at all.

Well this is concerning.... My DP took a photo of his rear end last week to investigate a possible pile when the mirror wasn't helping, hope the same didn't happen to him Grin

Fatcatfat · 22/06/2019 18:23

I had exactly the same thing a couple of days ago. Some screen shots of male and one female outfits that looked like screenshots from a fashion website. Just me and DH in the house asleep at that time.

I had photo sharing temporarily enabled as I sent my DD a photo when she was here. Now disabled it on iPhone. Assume it was from a neighbours phone or computer. Quite creepy.

Earlywalker · 22/06/2019 18:23

Is it an iPhone? Do you have an iPad that could’ve left the house today?

orangeshoebox · 22/06/2019 18:26

do you have bluetooth enabled?

BarkandCheese · 22/06/2019 18:27

Is it they could have been accidentally air dropped to you?

BenWillbondsPants · 22/06/2019 18:45

It's not an iphone and bluetooth is off.

I don't even know what air dropping means? I should mention I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to this stuff.

have a look in your settings.
in my case under general settings is the option to air drop and to switch it off or restrict to contacts or have it open.

TheBogWitchIsBack · 22/06/2019 18:57

I was about to say air drop as well but I think you have to accept when someone air drops or shares photos with you from their cloud.
I’d suspect a shared cloud/album with someone.

Likethebattle · 22/06/2019 19:21

You have to accept air drops.

If you have Gmail and google pictures - you can see all pictures from all devices that you have been logged in with you gmail email lol The same hapenned to me when I found a selfy of my cousin on my phone - she did that selfy on her tablet but I used my gmail on that device previously. Its actually creepy especially when its photos of peope you dont know haha

user1486131602 · 22/06/2019 19:50

Have you had a phone stolen recently?
Maybe they are using that to access your cloud?
I would reset all my things and change passwords to be safe and contact your provider as well.

BenWillbondsPants · 22/06/2019 20:36

I haven't lost my phone, don't share cloud with anyone, I only every log on my own laptop or my phone. No shared devices at all. It's REALLY weird!

bourbonbiccy · 22/06/2019 20:38

Could it have been in your pocket and double clicked the side or front button to activate camera ?

BenWillbondsPants · 22/06/2019 20:41

I was at home bourbonbiccy the photo was a selfie of a group of lads taken on a train about 80 miles away. Grin

Butterymuffin · 22/06/2019 20:44

Then it must have been somehow sent to or shared with your phone. That's the only way. Unless you believe phones can travel in time and space.

Beingnicetomyself · 22/06/2019 20:45

If you click on "info" what does it say?

Furiosa · 22/06/2019 21:01

Butterymuffin

My phone can travel forward in time and in three dimensional space Smile

bourbonbiccy · 22/06/2019 21:07

OP sorry, should have registered that on your original post !!!! My Fail 😭😭

DogHairEverywhere · 22/06/2019 21:18

Perhaps your phone has a secret life, travelling on trains, seeing the world...
