This is an ongoing discussion that DH and I have. We genuinely dint think he has! Watching him on Graham Norton just now, and I heard his interviews with Chris Evans
this week, and he seems like such a nice guy. (Please don’t tell me he bites the heads off jellybabies or anything).

velocity Yes! So much wrong with Big! Odd one. It happened when then was a real trend for Born Sexy Yesterday films (Weird Science, Splash) but to watch it now... urgh.

Mrsjayy · 21/06/2019 23:13

Big was terrible. I love tom though he seems such a nice person and good value guest on GN

LittleAndOften · 21/06/2019 23:14

Turner and Hooch anyone? Hmm

Mrsjayy · 21/06/2019 23:14

Big was on over christmas my Dd watched it like Shock Hmm

heidipi · 21/06/2019 23:16

Larry Crowne with Julia Roberts in 2011 (why did either of them do it?). Was my first eve out after DC1 was born - what a waste. Had blocked the detail out so just had to look it up. Bleeaagh. I didn't mind Terminal, never seen Forrest Gump tho, couldn't face it.

TheCrowFromBelow · 21/06/2019 23:18

The Dan brown book one wasn’t great but it was better than the book.

TheDuckSaysMoo · 21/06/2019 23:18

Aw, I loved Joe v the volcano. I'll have to rewatch it if I can find it.

Calloway · 21/06/2019 23:18

I love Big.

But he's made plenty of stinkers.

RuffleCrow · 21/06/2019 23:18

He's surprisingly good in most things. I always think he's going to be boring because he has a boring face (sorry Tom) but I'm always pleasantly moved and surprised.

Calloway · 21/06/2019 23:19

Castaway was unbelievably boring.

Calloway · 21/06/2019 23:21

I'd forgotten he'd starred in a remake of The Ladykillers. Should be illegal to remake that classic.

mellicauli · 21/06/2019 23:21

Cast Away..yes..a 120 minute advert for Federal Express ..zzzz.

Mrsjayy · 21/06/2019 23:21

The terminal is one of my favourite films it makes me cry. Catherine zeta jones isn't great in it but itis a harmless film.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 21/06/2019 23:22

The green mile ..... yawwwwwwnnn

Calloway · 21/06/2019 23:23

Philadelphia always makes me blub. I just have to hear the opening bars of the Neil Young song that plays at the end...

Girliefriendlikescake · 21/06/2019 23:23

I often think this, he's very watchable imo, I like Big as it's a film I grew up watching but yes as an adult I can see it's weird and inappropriate! Turner and Hooch is one of my favourite films and how can anyone say a bad word against Forrest Gump 😮

Tom Hank's is def not in my big fat Greek wedding!! That's the guy who played Aidan in sex in the city 🤣

SwingoutSisterSledge · 21/06/2019 23:26

Castaway the most boring film ever . The only exciting part was when he came in contact with the Whale.

awakeat3again · 21/06/2019 23:27

Anyone else remember THE BURBS?

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 21/06/2019 23:29

Castaway, bloody awful film

Mrsjayy · 21/06/2019 23:35

I fell asleep watching castaway woke up to a clean shaven Tom i couldn't be bothered to ask Dh what happened and i went to bed.

evilharpy · 21/06/2019 23:36

I loved Big but seeing it again as an adult was really quite odd, realising how inappropriate it was. If you remove the love interest bit it was really well done though.

Anyone seen The Money Pit? I always liked that.

He seems like such a nice guy.

EachandEveryone · 21/06/2019 23:40

Its a good couch tonight.

whatwouldkatyactuallydonext · 21/06/2019 23:44

Can't believe Dragnet and The Burbs have been mentioned - I love those films!!

JE17 · 21/06/2019 23:58

I had this conversation last night with my DH. Tom Hanks always comes across as such a lovely guy in interviews, I hope/ believe we're seeing a real life genuine bloke. Teenage me saw Joe vs the Volcano and enjoyed it, although i have practically no recollection of it now (can remember more about who I was with than the film). I haven't seen it since, probably best to avoid it judging by some of the opinions above

Patroclus · 22/06/2019 00:00

He certainly was Tom Banks for those films.
