I was helping my DS with the colours of the rainbow and used the Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain as a way of remembering.

He thought it was magic!

Can I ask what’s your best mnemonic aid?

Mine was “My Very Educated Mother Just Showed Us Nine Planets” (until Pluto got downgraded!)

From my year 6 English teacher.

I learned the planets as My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets

I did have one for all the sharps in music keys which could be reversed for the flats but I can't remember it. It was really useful when I did music theory exams.

Took me a few attempts to figure that out!

Not quite the same but my lovely ex army primary school teacher in the 1970s told us of being stationed in Egypt and it being so hot he could fry eggs on the bonnet of his vehicle!

He taught us all to spell Egypt phonetically as Egg wiped!

I’ve never forgotten!
