Talk to me about private number plates

DH has suggested buying me a private plate with our babies name on it. He's found one which is £300 and thinks it's a good idea as we could pass it on to our boy when he's older.

I like the idea of passing it on so I'm swaying towards getting one but I'm not 100% sure. Are they a bit crappy?! What's the pros and cons of having one?

I'd rather never drive again.

Ultimate in wankiness.

Seriously EdWinchester? That’s quite the attitude you’ve got there...I take it someone with a private plate ran over your first pet?

I saw one very recently that was P5 EDO

Yeah, that happened Hmm

I think this is something that really divides opinion. Personally I really dislike them and find them chavvy/tacky. Even if I won the lottery I wouldn’t have one. I have friends that have them though - each to their own, but they’re not for me.

I have one. Not to make my car look newer but because I like it.

ElfrideSwancourt · 20/06/2019 20:58

Honestly I did see it!

Fabellini · 20/06/2019 20:58

Elfride now I don’t think that’s actually true, is it?
DVLA don’t allow any plates with possibly offensive nuances, and having checked with the Gov.UK website, that particular plate doesn’t seem to exist.
