Do you like this bed?

I’m rubbish with colours. I tend to shy away and go for safe neutrals, but I really want a new cosy bedroom. We are getting new wardrobes, blinds, paint carpet and everything -so it’s a blank canvas
So do you like this bed? Perhaps teamed with an orange comforter (I don’t like the rather insipid pink they have used).

Love it! It was my second choice bed but I really wanted a mustard bed. Having previously had a wooden headboard I love having a padded one, it's so comfortable.

NoBaggyPants · 12/06/2019 22:20

It's lovely now, but will you still like it in a few years, and will it still look as good as new?

I'd go for something more neutral and bring colour in with accessories. Then you can change the colour scheme as often as you want to!

RavenLG · 12/06/2019 22:27

LOVE it!!

BrokenWing · 12/06/2019 22:28

The reason it stands out in the picture and looks stunning is because everything around it is so neutral do I would try to stick with that to make it a real centre piece.

The alternative is to have the whole room a busy pallet of bright colours, which if done right could look good.

Dontbestupidagain · 12/06/2019 22:33

I love it!
I'd go for second hand antique furniture from eBay. and Would paint wall in an ammonite (off white/v light grey).

Littlechocola · 12/06/2019 22:36

It’s stunning!

CakeNinja · 12/06/2019 22:41

It’s a very bold and statement-y.
Not something I’d choose myself because my bedroom isn’t big enough to do it justice, I think in the right room it would look great though.
I don’t like the way it’s styled in the photos at all!

Dogsaresomucheasier · 12/06/2019 22:42

As for carpet I’d go for a pale neutral, like the photo😀

Just2MoreSeasons · 12/06/2019 22:47

Lots to think about, but I’m encouraged that there are more yeses than no’s! Still not sure if I’ve brave enough Blush

The problem that I would have with it is that because it’s a bold colour it would the main focus of the room and I would want to pick up that colour elsewhere in the room. Such as being one of the colours in patterned curtains. I think it would be hard to match that colour exactly.

I also think you would be tied to that colour for a long time and whilst it’s something you love now, you might be fed up of it after a couple of years.

SoupDragon · 12/06/2019 22:51

I don't like it - I don't like the colour and I don't like furniture with non removable washable fabric parts.

namechangeagain999 · 12/06/2019 22:56

I love it

TheFairyCaravan · 12/06/2019 22:56

No. It would get really dusty and absolutely drive me insane. I'm not keen on headboards that can't be washed, either. Sorry.

Drogosnextwife · 12/06/2019 22:59

Ohh IKEA have loads of things in this colour and accessories to go with that colour just now, well they did when I was last in. It was lovely. Lots of deep colours and golds. I like it.

Drogosnextwife · 12/06/2019 23:03

I like this kind of thing but that probably a bit dark for some people.

I wouldn't buy it in that colour, but I prefer light and neutral, also prefer it with the lighter colour, pink/oyster.

Just2MoreSeasons · 12/06/2019 23:10

Hmm, hadn’t thought about the dust. And yes I am wondering about window coverings soola
Thanks for,the tip drogo,I’ll have a look what colours Ikea pit with it!

Yes but I love pure white bed linen including blankets/throws and I'm not sure they'd look right together. But for you, yes.

Choc Now I really really want a purple velvet bed!

DingDongDenny · 12/06/2019 23:13

Sorry I hate it, it's a very 1970s granny bed.

But don't let that stop you if you like it

Just2MoreSeasons · 12/06/2019 23:19

Are you in the uk drogo I cant find that bed at all Confused
ding dong yes!-there is something reminiscent about my granny in those curves!

Gorgeous

Drogosnextwife · 12/06/2019 23:33

Sorry OP that's just a screen shot off Pinterest so no idea where it's from.

happyhillock · 12/06/2019 23:35

100% love it, i'd have a nuetural carpet

phenomenalcat · 13/06/2019 01:40

I love it but would go all out with this wallpaper. If you want mirrored wardrobes go gold edged and co ordinating furniture eg gold/brass handles. Off white on the other walls and pale grey or beige carpet depending on the wall colour chosen. Accented with the pinky colour. Put Teal bedroom in Pinterest for more ideas of this.

Love it. Teal is my absolute favourite. I'd go with @phenomenalcat 's wallpaper too
