And anything non dc related would be appreciated. I need to find some big and small silver linings.

Burying my nose in a horses mane and inhaling. Nothing better. Doubt that helps though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/06/2019 22:10

I've actually been thinking about this quite a lot recently, and my current lust looks something like:

a coffee and cake in a cafe on my own

being near water - a walk by a lake or along a river or a canal seems to make me feel really content for some reason

long bath with a sheet mask and bubbles

going for a walk with a camera

dancing - either a little kitchen disco or going out to a local club for old people!

going for a massage or a spa day

going on a train journey with a book/Kindle

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/06/2019 22:11

Buying flowers

Clean sheets

RangerLady · 09/06/2019 22:12

A full night's sleep - the dream!
Going for a walk on my own with my binoculars.
Going to town and browsing shops like proper grown up.
I think I'd like a walk along the beach and a paddle.

I don't do any of these things obviously as I have 2 small children Grin

captaincorellisvaseline · 09/06/2019 22:12

Feeling properly connected - to DH or friends usually.

Being outside, particularly near water.

ohnoessexgirl · 09/06/2019 22:12

Looking at the sea. Luckily I live a 5 minute walk from it ❤️

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/06/2019 22:13

list not lust! lol

Fantasisa · 09/06/2019 22:13

@Sarahlou63 - no it doesn't - I'm allergic to horses and cats! I'm not particularly interested in animals but my friends who are horsey feel the same as you.

Sleep
Money
Good shag

SallyWD · 09/06/2019 22:14

A nice cup of tea and a sit down
A walk in nature
Delicious food (including shopping and cooking it)
Seeing friends and feeling a real connection/affection for them
A good book
Buying new clothes
Helping others and feeling useful

Fantasisa · 09/06/2019 22:15

I'm also looking at things that adversely affect my mood - spending too much time on social media and on here maybe? Listening to the news too much stresses me out too.

Back to nature seems to be a theme for people.

Going on a long walk through endless greenery under the heavy canopy of the summer foliage with my headphones on and beautiful music playing.

Being around my favourite people and hugging them!

A good cup of tea or coffee in the peace of my old kitchen.

Smelling my dog's paws and then just collapsing onto him for stinky cuddles.

Seeing everyone's shoes piled up inside my hallway.

Our kitchen table that the kids and their friends paint and colour all over. We've been doing this for years. Doodle, eat, talk, repeat.

Walking inside my front door to hear the sound of sixth formers sitting around the piano, playing, singing.

Books. Books. Books. I always have one on the boil on the kindle, a paperback/hardback next to the bed, and an audible book to listen to on dog walks (I alternate between music and audio books).

Morning light, walking across the big field and seeing that light. I pretty much shed a tear every day for the glory that is just being alive.

Fantasisa · 09/06/2019 22:21

For me, one of the things I like having things to look forward to (whether it is theatre tickets/holiday/coffee with a friend) but equally not having an overfull diary.

Simple things like
Nice meal out
Being outside on a nice day
Lazing in bed in a morning on a day off.
Couch and box sets/movies with my partner
Seeing friends/family
The euphoric/happy kind of feeling you get after a good workout.

TheVanguardSix · 09/06/2019 22:22

Yes, logging out of Facebook and checking in monthly or every couple of months has helped loads! My only friends on FB are realer than real. I don't even 'friend' friends I've known over the past 5 years. Only lifelong friends or friends going back 20 years. No fluff. And that's the only social media I sometimes, infrequently, take part in.

See people in real life! It matters. Join a book club or two.

Solongtoshort · 09/06/2019 22:22

Driving down to the prom and reading my book by myself with no one there, even I the rain. l hate the summer months when people are around and someone is in my parking place.

A scented candle
Chatting to my best friend on the phone

Going for a walk

Thismummyruns · 09/06/2019 22:44

Sleep but I've noted none DC related so for me would be the following:

Sitting in the garden in the sun (on my own),
Enjoying a good cup of hot coffee (on my own),
Going shopping & buying some lovely things without feeling guilty,
Treating myself to some nice food in M&S,
Love going to garden centres for a look around plus I love the smell of them oddly,
Having a facial/beauty treatment- I feel on top of the world after.

Bit of a pattern. I like time by myself, either I'm weird or I'm a horrible mother!!

Titsywoo · 09/06/2019 22:49

Having a clean house (luckily I enjoy cleaning it!)
Working on my allotment (Not something I ever thought I'd enjoy!)
My bed
Being at home
Spending time with family and friends
Gardening

Bezalelle · 09/06/2019 22:52

Treating myself to a couple of bunches of flowers on a Friday.

Fantasisa · 09/06/2019 23:05

@Titsywoo - I also like having a clean house, unfortunately I do not like cleaning it. Confused
