And anything non dc related would be appreciated. I need to find some big and small silver linings.

Walking along a sandy beach barefoot feet just in the surf.

Reading a good book.

Going for a walk up a hill and then sitting admiring the view and knowing the walk down will be easier than the walk up.

Having a bubble bath when no one else is home.

Faster · 09/06/2019 23:18

Walking up and down the hills nearby. Especially if I’ve got a pack up and a flask of coffee with me.
A good nap.
Having a lie in.
Seeing the washing out on the line.

EleanorLavish · 09/06/2019 23:32

Getting in to bed each night. It just makes me so wonderfully happy. The work of the day is done, everyone is asleep, time to relax and sleep in cosy comfort.
I’m another one who loves looking at water. The sea, a pond, a river, makes me happy and relaxed to watch them.

Kalim8 · 10/06/2019 06:27

Having my first coffee outside before the sun has crept round to the garden.

Glimpsing distant hills.

Having a cat wander over for a snuggle.

Drawing.

Reading - haven't for ages and now found a brilliant book!

Bees

I lovely glass of red

When my house is tidy but I can still seen bits and pieces of the kids stuff around, I don't know why.

My close friends. They are truly the most wonderful bunch of women who have helped me through the last few shitty months.

When DH is asleep on the sofa. He doesn't sleep well so this makes me happy.

caringiscreepy · 10/06/2019 11:24

After having 2 brain surgeries and a very near brush with death very recently, the tiniest things make me happy. Just being at home and being with my lovely family. Being outside in the garden my parents have put so much effort into and being alive and realising that all the stuff I worried about before is completely trivial

RiversDisguise · 10/06/2019 11:32

Books/literature/languages/words

True friends

Art

Dancing

Travelling to somewhere new

Cosy old pubs with fireplaces and nooks

Lavender sprinkled on pillows and in the bath. Lavender fields in Provence.

Falling asleep to audio books

Sex when you're in love.

BiteyShark · 10/06/2019 12:07

Taking some time just to be me.

That can be walking in the countryside with my dog, sitting in a cafe having a cuppa and some cake or just sat in the garden listening to all the different sounds.

I think it's just the action of taking some time away from all the day 'stuff'.

LaurieFairyCake · 10/06/2019 12:14

A really firm, hard............

Dick Wink

BenWillbondsPants · 10/06/2019 12:17

Nothing else @LaurieFairyCake? 😂

LaurieFairyCake · 10/06/2019 12:25

So many things Ben Grin

But right now instead of cleaning the bathroom, a dick (attached to my darling bloke) would go down just fine

BenWillbondsPants · 10/06/2019 12:26

😂😂😂

FrenchyQ · 10/06/2019 12:27

My dogs... We've just had new grass installed and I just lay in the garden with a dog each side.
