46 - too old for a denim jacket?

Prunella Scales was wearing one on TV tonight and she's in her 80s!

My 63 year old mum looks great in hers.

46 being too old for one? Bloody hell, I despair.

Double denim is only acceptable if you are wearing black jeans and your jacket is a light colour.

Otherwise you look like that Danny bloke from The Voice.

Of course it's fine to wear one at any age. I'm 55 & very fond of mine. If you like it, wear it.

No one other than my immediate family knows how old I am so I’ll wear what I ruddy well want.

i regularly wear them at 57 but denim jackets that suit my shape not high fashion ones.

I’ve got one, it’s without a collar & I wear it with dresses. It’s replaced my long cardigans which do look old unless you can do that wafty style which doesn’t work on me! Wear it😁😁

Ive never thought any body was too old for a jacket just wear a jacket if you like it. Bless some of the posters with the 48/50 something mums that made me feel ancient

I'm 40 next year and I've got 2 Levi's denim jackets I inherited from my dad who died last year at 61. They were hid from the 80s. Admittedly I hadn't seen him in them recently but he held onto them! Luckily my dad was very small so they fit me 😁. I am a bit wary of wearing them with similar colour jeans. Not sure if I can pull of the status quo 'double denim' look!

I'm 66 and have one. And a biker style leather jacket too, but it was from Jaeger.

Surely it would save time and blood pressure if MNHQ simply added a notice at the top of S&B stating that THERE IS NO AGE LIMIT ON CLOTHING. WEAR WHAT YOU LIKE.

I am sick to death of reading this goady, ageist nonsense. What are women over 35 supposed to do - walk naked or wear a blanket, while carrying a sign admitting their embarrassment at not having died yet?

I got one last year at the grand old age of 44. I love it. Even my mother who is very "women should wear what is appropriate for their age" agrees that it looks great. I say - go for it!
