Question for you if you don't wash your hair every day

I'm trying to get out of the habit of washing my hair every day, can't be good for the oils etc. But how in earth do you get your hair to sit?? I've shortish hair, about chin length and when I wake up it looks as if I've been styled by Vidal Baboon. It's sticking up every way possible!! Should I just wet it? Add more mousse? Please help Grin

I run a comb under the tap then over my hair, occasionally with a hair dryer too.

RacheyCat · 07/06/2019 11:26

Hair dryer without making your hair wet first also works. Won't take longer than a minute.

I wash my hair twice a week, sometimes three if I'm feeling fancy.

YesQueen · 07/06/2019 11:29

Mine is curly but I just wet my hands, and then smooth some water based lube over. Yes, actual lube

I 2nd wetting a brush then combing though , I don't use a hair dryer but that more because I cba

CassianAndor · 07/06/2019 11:36

I wet my hair in the shower every morning, that gets it back into shape. Not soaking wet but wet enough.

formerbabe · 07/06/2019 11:54

On the days I don't wash, I run the straighteners over it quickly

Mrsjayy · 07/06/2019 11:56

Btw don't add more mousse you will just end up with sticky build up and your hair will look horrible

ChodeofChodeHall · 07/06/2019 12:06

Water based lube for curly hair? Confused I'm trying that one!

YesQueen · 07/06/2019 12:20

@ChodeofChodeHall yes a silicone free one. Acts like a serum

CassianAndor · 07/06/2019 12:20

Yeuch! I have curly hair and wetting it is all that's needed for it to spring back. It's got product in it anyway.

WeCameToDance · 07/06/2019 12:43

I just brush it. I have quite weighty hair so the worst that happens is it goes a bit wavy in the night. I tend to prefer it that way anyway.

Aimily · 07/06/2019 12:48

I've got a chin length bob too, I wash mine every other or 3rd day.
Day 1 is wash day.
Day 2 I use a blast of water spray and a quick hair dry blow.
Day 3 either dry shampoo and top half gets clipped back or this is wash day.

When I was white blonde I washed it twice a week, but since growing it back to natural it gets greasier faster.

Jellycat1 · 07/06/2019 13:01

Dry shampoo

kaytee87 · 07/06/2019 13:07

Damp comb and hairdryer

AriaFitz · 07/06/2019 14:57

Get a silk pillowcase!

isthismylifenow · 07/06/2019 15:01

I have a short style too and I just use a straighter on it on the days i dont wash. I wash it every 2nd, or if I can stretch it every 3rd day.

WhentheDealGoesDown · 07/06/2019 15:12

I would rather not wash my hair every day but if I don’t it seems to start hurting the top of my head, it’s very strange, I have short curly hair so it is no bother to wash it so I do

eurochick · 07/06/2019 15:12

I use straighteners to iron out any kinks.

WhentheDealGoesDown · 07/06/2019 15:14

If I don’t wash it I just damp it and it springs back

Knitclubchatter · 07/06/2019 15:22

I shower daily and soak it down. I run water based conditioner through it every second day and wash with shampoo weekly.
I’ve got very curly, prone to be dry hair.

Pinotjo · 07/06/2019 15:34

I put the straighteners through it, I look like iv been electrocuted when I wake up

Jellycat1 · 07/06/2019 15:38

Does nobody use dry shampoo any more?! Worried I've missed some dire health warning or something now!

Hmmmbop · 07/06/2019 15:43

I do jellycat but for me it only makes t look less greasy,it doesn't take out the links etc. which the OP was describing. Do I'll often dampen and dry hair straight then use dry shampoo.

Mrsjayy · 07/06/2019 15:44

I use dry shampoo but if I use too much I get a dry scalp
