Consummate professional, handles all the pop master contestants smoothly, so gentle with Susan Boyle - but he really can't stand Jeremy Vine can he!

Ken is the best thing in R2, especially now Lyn has gone. She ruined the last years of Terry's show too.

I caught a bit of the painful breakfast show this morning and realised that SW is no longer the worst presenter on R2. Zoe is dreadful. She doesn't let anyone answer her questions when "interviewing" them and then gushes meaningless flattery at them that is so so false. Don't get me started on the abomination that is the show and tell "feature"...

Love Ken, he just makes me smile.

I think SW’s humour is very subtle and self deprecating. I don’t think everyone quite gets it.

Don’t get me started on the absence and previous shocking treatment of Sir Simon Mayo.

The last thing I would describe SW as would be subtle. It's painful, awkward and self-indulgent.

Love Ken he is the best thing on radio.
Always professional but great sense of humour and self deprecating. Always has a comeback to cheek from.listeners (or agrees with them)

Love pop master and all the messages from people who claim to stop work for it.(like the airline pilot this morning😀)

Jeremy Vine is up there with Jeremy Kyle in the "I love me who do you love"? Stakes. Never a straight answer always goady. Don't think he has an opinion of his own on anything just winds people up for fun. Think maybe Ken is of the same opinion. (Disclaimer JMHO)

This post is a prime example of why MN should have a 'like' button 😁

I only ever tune in for Pop master ( i would do really badly if i went on it, but at home i sometimes reach the 20 mark!) and he is good - doesnt ask too many questions, puts the contestants at ease and seems very laid back and happy most days as well. I always smile that after the quiz, he tends to play a very long song and i imagine he might nip off to the loo then!
I dont mind Jeremy Vine, but now i'm not out and about driving as much these days, i dont listen as much as i used to.
It will be sad when Ken retires.
I think that Steve Wright should retire - his show puts my teeth on edge - dh had it on one day in the car, that quickly was turned over!

diaduittoyou · 06/06/2019 17:30

SW humour subtle - comment of the year Grin on what planet?!

S0CKS · 06/06/2019 19:37

Clickncollect · 07/06/2019 07:59

Oh thank God, I thought this was going to say he’s dead!
I love Ken - he kept me company (via the radio!) while I was on maternity leave and I rather miss him now I’m back at work. I’ve subscribed to the pop master podcast which I listen to on the way home!

Ursaminor · 07/06/2019 11:13

Lots of Ken love out there! Sorry for worrying folk who thought it was going to be an RIP announcement.
