I've just spent a few weeks in Mirepoix in France. On the way we drove through a town called Fanjeaux. My boyf and DD couldn't understand why I kept sniggering . . .

This village is near where I live. Sting has a house here, and I wouldn't be surprised if the name played a part in his decision to purchase!

I used to live quite near Intercourse in Pennsylvania.
While we were living in the US we went skiing a couple of times at a resort called Blue Knob.

My PiL live near Punxsatawney in Pennsylvanis which is the home of Groundhog Phil (as in Groundhog Day). The park where Groundhog Phil announces the weather is called Gobblers Knob. We have pictures of the DC where small standing next to a huge sign saying "Welcome to Gobblers Knob".

@ZippyBungleandGeorge we drive past Fingringhoe every so often and are always delighted.

My (French) DP is from a town very near Fanjeaux OP. I laugh to myself every time I see the signs when visiting his parents. He doesn't really get the joke
