I've just spent a few weeks in Mirepoix in France. On the way we drove through a town called Fanjeaux. My boyf and DD couldn't understand why I kept sniggering . . . Grin Grin

Also in Yorkshire, a village called rimswell. Just near Swine. I've also seen a fanny hands lane.

My friend's cousin teaches English to French college students, and she brought them to the U.K. to practise their skills. There was almost a riot when they saw a sign advertising a 'massive pine sale' outside a pub and almost fell out of the bus, tumbling over each other to photograph the 'huge dirty dick' sign. Further hilarity ensued when the pub manager rushed out, thinking they were the judges from 'Britain in Bloom' come to admire his hanging baskets..

Made DH pull over so I could get a signpost picture of Wankum in Germany. Found it highly amusing, kept me entertained in the car for miles Grin

@Auldspinster

To get to Fucking, you should really take the scenic route. Start at Kissing, and take the 83367 through Petting.

It's 234.6 km and you should manage it in three hours.

How about residing in Jacks Bush.

There's a hugely popular lake near Banff called Lake Minnewanka. We live in the nearest big city and go there fairly regularly. Canadians pronounce it 'mini-wonka' with totally straight faces but I'm a child and call it mini-wanker whilst sniggering to myself Grin

There are also tons of drive-through places here where you can get your car an oil change and they're all called 'something-lube'. My favourite is Mr Lube but Jiffy Lube also strikes me as being good if you're in a rush every time I drive past.

There is Muff in Ireland.

ThreeLeggedCat · 05/06/2019 22:18

I lived in Hong Kong for a while and resided in Man Fuk Road (it’s in Kowloon).

donajimena · 05/06/2019 22:18

We've got a Fanny Street in Cardiff.

jollygoose · 05/06/2019 22:22

I recently visited Sexhow in North Yorks

meditrina · 05/06/2019 22:23

I know that HK road - it's right by the station, isn't it?

I still have difficulty with Penistone

And if Typhoo put the T in Britain, who did what to Scunthorpe?

Bananalanacake · 05/06/2019 22:26

there was a train company in Germany called NOB. Nord Ostsee Bahn but I think they've been taken over. Afraid I giggled at the conductor with NOB on his uniform.

MountainDweller · 05/06/2019 23:00

I think I've said this before but when we lived in Germany we regularly used to pass signs for Titz and Wanken on the same stretch of motorway Grin

ilovepixie · 05/06/2019 23:00

This is a road in Ballymoney Northern Ireland.

There's a Cockburn Street in Edinburgh city centre but again they spoil the fun by pronouncing it 'coburn'.

MrsMoastyToasty · 06/06/2019 00:07

There's a place in Scotland called Bonkle. It's just up the road from Bogside.
