Stupidest injury ever

MyGastIsFlabbered · 02/06/2019 20:59

I recently bought some new pants that were lacy. The lace had tiny holes in it. Last night I went to the loo and couldn't pull my pants down fully. On closer inspection part of my labia had somehow gone through a hole in the lace and was stuck. I couldn't pull it back through the hole and in the end had to just yank them down. I ended up bleeding profusely. I was at a gig so the queue for the loos was enormous so I didn't have time to deal with it in a leisurely manner, nor did I have access to scissors.

Please tell me someone else has a stupider injury story?

Once pulled the plug out of the socket after finishing vacuuming, it somehow managed to flick up cutting my lip. Ended up with 2 stitches in it an hour before going out to our staff dinner/dance - not a good look.

ElizaPancakes · 02/06/2019 22:53

Well. That sounds....painful!

One of my stupidest would be washing my face, jamming my finger up my nostril and making my nose bleed. I’ve done it more than once. Another one I remember that still makes me laugh, when I was a teen I had a mini pencil skirt. I was dancing round my room, kicked my leg up and promptly whipped the other one up underneath me and thundered to the ground Grin. Bruised mainly my ego!

chesterfuckingdraws · 03/06/2019 02:19

Ouch sounds painful!!

I managed to stab myself in the hand separating frozen chicken breasts, I managed to cut right through the tendon on my thumb.Envy

No idea why I’m laughing so hard!

BitOfFun · 03/06/2019 02:27

Because you're a SICKO, GreenTulips? Grin

So am I

Imnotaslimjim · 03/06/2019 03:08

Sounds painful!

I broke my foot a week ago after standing up on it when it was numb (had been sat with it tucked under my bum) it rolled and snapped. Feel like a prize idiot

GinasGirl · 03/06/2019 15:58

I have punched myself in the face more than once by pulling my top up and my hand slipping. Falling up the stairs, that's a regular one. Misjudging kerbs and tripping over them.

TroysMammy · 03/06/2019 16:07

When I was married my then husband and myself would sit in the bath together. The rule, whoever run it could have the non plug end. After losing yet again and having to sit at the plug end my H thought it a giggle to pull me towards him. Only I was sitting on the plug and the metal part cut my bum hole. TMI alert - from time to time it bleeds on wiping. I now have a bath with the plug hole in the middle but being on a water meter I now shower.

HelmutFrontbut · 03/06/2019 16:08

Like a modern day There's Something About Mary 😂😂😂

'WE'VE GOT A BLEEDER!!!!

Thunderwing · 03/06/2019 16:14

I broke my nose while swimming.

I fell up the stairs and banged my face on the railings which resulted in my tooth coming through my cheek.

I broke my nose playing rounders.

As a kid I had a bunkbed with a desk attached; decided that it was easier to climb on the desk to close the curtains, slipped and ended up with freshly sharpened pencils (thanks mum) embedded in my armpit. There's still a mark.

I fell and hit a table with my front teeth and got stuck like some demented beaver.

I am not trusted with sharp things.

cheeseislife8 · 03/06/2019 16:18

Ouch OP! I broke my foot tripping over my cat once... I don't to this day know if my boss believed me about how I did it!

moonpiggle · 03/06/2019 16:27

Sleep deprived many years ago jumped out of bed as heard a loud bang..stood on plug facing upwards, jesus the pain! Shot forward in agony straight into the ironing board and knocked my elbow so hard i broke the ironing board. I still have my one legged ironing board. Still no idea what the loud bang was.

weegiemum · 03/06/2019 17:00

I broke my wrist falling upstairs.

I also tripped over some knittting wool and slipped and had a really nasty compound fracture of my ankle - bone out through the skin and wool embedded in the flesh. Really nasty. I was in hospital 2 weeks with that one!

x2boys · 03/06/2019 17:03

Whilst opening a frozen pizza for tea, s frozen piece of cheese bounced of the packaging into my eye ,it stung for days Sad

Mari50 · 03/06/2019 17:05

I got a corneal abrasion from the hook on my bra. It was stuck in the drawer so I pulled really hard and ping, just like that, big abrasion.

moonpiggle · 03/06/2019 17:10

Whilst shaving under my arms, I dropped the razor and cut my nipple.

K456789 · 03/06/2019 17:18

I sprayed shaving cream into my hand and the force bounced the gel from my hand into my eye. I ended up in A&E getting it washed out as my contact lens became stuck at the back of my eye.

K456789 · 03/06/2019 17:19

@Tulipvase I've also done that. Very painful

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 03/06/2019 17:20

Today I was in TK Maxx sniffing the toiletries, and dropped a dirty big slab of artisanal, poncey soap on my toes. I am wearing open toed sandals, of course.

I think the toe beside my right big toe might actually be broken (it is painful and doesn't wriggle or bend). If I have to get it looked at I will say I dropped a brick or something on it. Maybe a tin of beans,

blameitonmymjuice · 03/06/2019 17:29

I had exact same injury OP, except I was 16 and on holiday in middle of nowhere ... had to persuade my mum to cut me out with nail scissors ... so bloody sore . Haven’t worn lacy pants since and that was eleven years ago !!

Notageek · 03/06/2019 17:54

Outside our back door there 2 paving sIabs join at right angles to the door, one was slightly higher than the other. I stepped out of the back door on to the join, overbalanced sideways and went down like a sack of potatoes ...head cracked on the patio , all my arm ligaments torn and ankle badly twisted. I couldn’t drive and had to ring work to say I was injured after falling out of the back door - stone cold sober.

Last week I walk walking along the hallway with a pencil in my hand , as I swung my arm the end hit the door frame and punctured a hole in my finger...so painful it was about 3 days before I could touch anything.

HappyBumbleBee · 03/06/2019 17:57

2 weeks ago i walked into the sitting room with my dinner - stubbed and broke my little toe on my sons workboots (which he was wearing) dropped my dinner into my chair and ended up in a heap on the floor yowling! Said son and hubby were too busy laughing to help me. My toe is still painful 😨

amusedbush · 03/06/2019 18:01

I fractured my ankle three years ago by tripping over nothing. Literally nothing. I was sober, walking along a smooth pavement in the middle of the day, wearing flat shoes.

I went over on my ankle and did this comedy sort of wobble-stagger-run thing for several paces before crashing headlong into the ground. It hurt for a bit but I got over it, then the next day my ankle was three times the size and purple.
