Following on from the event thread here about no compromises

I will not buy even if I feel loaded I'm not really

Heinz beans
Ketchup
Easter/ Christmas gimmick choc
Posh oats
Sugary cereals
Fizzy pop
White bread
Flowers ( they're cut so already 💀)
Most things from a big brand( I buy mostly own brand)

Amongst others.
I'm also a clean and tidy miserable shite person who does not like breakfast in bed because I don't want crumbs and food in the bedroom.

Anybody care to join in? NC because I'm sure I'll be flamed or somebody will be offended.

Agree with new cars, personalised number plates and designer clothes. Just not interested.

Gingernaut · 01/06/2019 12:12

Designer watches - Rolex, Longines, Gucci, Tag Heuer etc.

There's simply no need.

redspider1 · 01/06/2019 12:12

Brands for food.
Designer labels.

Batsypatsy · 01/06/2019 12:13

I can't see the point in buying

Personalised number plates
Ridiculously priced designer trainers etc
Expensive shoes
Expensive handbags

I too but mainly supermarket brand food, there's no difference to me, why pay more?

StrugglingOn13 · 01/06/2019 12:13

@Time40 I got bought one for a significant birthday and have no choice but to use it Blush

Used to worry that people thought I obnoxious (or like anything previously mentioned on MN) before they’ve met me but that’s up to them for being judgemental before actually talking to me Wink

Savoury99 · 01/06/2019 12:20

A massive house but I do love biggish gardens

Stupidly expensive clothes and jewelry.

I do like a nice home and to look nice but I don't want the above.

ElspethFlashman · 01/06/2019 12:21

I have 4 expensive handbags. Blush I flipping adore them and justify it as them being Hand me downs that have a high resale value.

But I won't buy expensive shoes. I bought one pair of Jimmy Choos back in the last boom and totally underestimated how hard I was on shoes. Those things did not last. What was I thinking?! Now I buy New Look shoes cos when I trash them I don't care.

HappyEverIftar · 01/06/2019 12:22

Between us, DH and I earn an exceptional wage, I bought one Jo Malone handwash and felt sick. Never again.

poshredrose · 01/06/2019 12:25

I would never spend money on a brand new car or takeaway pizza

BollocksIsTheWord · 01/06/2019 12:27

I would never go to Dubai.

Also prefer Lidl prosecco to ANY champagne I’ve tried including the expensive ones.

A daft, posh designer dog.

Lights and other household stuff that operates using voice only methods.

Shockers · 01/06/2019 12:31

I’m drinking Lidl organic Prosecco right now @BollocksIsTheWord!

blameitonmymjuice · 01/06/2019 12:31

Knickers that aren’t from Asda, New Look, Primark etc ...

Pyjamas that cost more than £20 a pair

First class travel

greensnail · 01/06/2019 12:32

Blackberries. DD loves them but I refuse to pay for them when you can find them so easily growing wild.

Shockers · 01/06/2019 12:32

But it’s an hour later than the UK here; it’s sunny and I am on holiday!

Drogosnextwife · 01/06/2019 12:34

Personalised number plates, they are wanky.

Drogosnextwife · 01/06/2019 12:38

Oh designer watches as someone said above. What's the point? Also wanky. As are disigner bags/purses a d shoes. They usually look no different from a bag that costs £50, in fact most of them just look tacky.

Asta19 · 01/06/2019 12:42

I would buy expensive bags as handbags are my weakness! Couldn’t care less about shoes but I do like a nice bag.

I’m actually struggling to answer because if I was mega rich (say big lottery style win) I think my lifestyle would adjust accordingly. Probably the only one I can say with certainty is waxing, oh and I wouldn’t go on a spa day! I hate being touched by strangers so wouldn’t want any kind of massage or anything and I think I’d just get really bored.

supersop60 · 01/06/2019 12:52

As a pp said - I would not buy anything with a brand name all over it. (would you do the same for M&S or Debenhams?)
Free advertising and overpriced to start with.

SweetPetrichor · 01/06/2019 12:53

Designer anything.
Beauty products.
Waxing.
Fancy fuel powered car...but if I had the money I would totally buy a tesla. If it's petrol or diesel powered then I couldn't bring myself to care enough to buy a status car. As long as it's reliable, that's all I need.

LadyRannaldini · 01/06/2019 12:54

*Even if I won euromillions I wouldn't buy:

Expensive shoes
Designer handbags
Flashy jewellery
Expensive watches*

Bet you would, a few millions can change one's outlook enormously!

Flyinggeese · 01/06/2019 12:56

OP I agree on the flowers! So sad to see how quickly they die separated from their roots. I love plants in pots and in the garden though.

redspider1 · 01/06/2019 12:57

I would buy good quality but once you get past £100 for a leather handbag you’re just paying for a name and I’m not into that. Names don’t equal style.

Daenerys77 · 01/06/2019 12:57

Any garment with a brand name or logo on it. If manufacturers want me to to advertise their stuff they should be paying me.

Crankybitch · 01/06/2019 13:05

I wouldn’t buy a personalised number plate

Do have designer bags - think they last so much longer - used to always be buying bags and then binning them - now have good ones that I can use for years

I know what everyone means about flowers but it’s nice to have some occasionally

I don’t like going out for pizza etc. Would much rather go out for a meal I couldn’t cook at home

Outofinspiration · 01/06/2019 13:12

A Range Rover. They are shite.
