Following on from the event thread here about no compromises

I will not buy even if I feel loaded I'm not really

Heinz beans
Ketchup
Easter/ Christmas gimmick choc
Posh oats
Sugary cereals
Fizzy pop
White bread
Flowers ( they're cut so already 💀)
Most things from a big brand( I buy mostly own brand)

Amongst others.
I'm also a clean and tidy miserable shite person who does not like breakfast in bed because I don't want crumbs and food in the bedroom.

Anybody care to join in? NC because I'm sure I'll be flamed or somebody will be offended.

why You want a hybrid smartwatch. Other advantage is that they have a proper battery that lasts months instead of needing charging every few days.

www.fossil.com/uk/en/women/watches/hybrid-smartwatches.html

I'd never buy a massive house or one in a very expensive area like London or Marbella. Just not interested at all. Ditto massively expensive watches.

If I found myself with enough money to buy any property anywhere and not work, I'd probably go for a Gozo Farmhouse.

MrsJBaptiste · 02/06/2019 08:59

Organic food.

Food is just fuel so once you've eaten it, who cares how much it cost?

MrsJBaptiste · 02/06/2019 09:01

As for this comment However I don’t have a watch as I think they are pointless 😂😂😂

StoatofDisarray · 02/06/2019 09:11

Champagne, designer clothing, shoes and handbags, wine, fancy candles or bath stuff, expensive skincare.

TapasForTwo · 02/06/2019 09:35

whyohwhyowhydididoit I live rurally and we don't have clocks hanging off trees every few yards. When I go out for a run or a bike ride and have to be back at a certain time a watch is very useful. I don't always have my phone on me. Even when not out in the countryside I can't always find a clock.

"Food is just fuel"

That sounds like a pretty joyless existence. Food is far more than just fuel. It is a pleasure to be savoured and enjoyed.

ExpletiveDelighted · 02/06/2019 09:41

I'm never without a watch, I am often in places where there isn't a clock and a lot of public ones don't seem to have the right time. I wear a fitness tracker now, I don't really use the fitness aspects much but I like that I can get text and call alerts on it as my phone is often on silent.

HoppityChicken · 02/06/2019 09:46

A mobile phone.

I've had free upgrades every time my contract runs out for 20-odd years. I don't understand why people pay all that money for them. I've also never broken one or had one stolen (probably because most of the time I'm wandering round a rubbish old model no one wants!)

AzraiL · 02/06/2019 09:48

Expensive handbags.

It doesn't make sense to me to spend more than $50 on a receptacle that is just meant to hold your crap.

ooooohbetty · 02/06/2019 09:49

I won't buy

Bottled water
A pedigree animal (always get one from a shelter)

BarbaraofSevillle · 02/06/2019 10:03

Hoppity

Out of interest how much do you pay per month for your phone contract?

Because if it's more than about £8 a month then you are paying for your phone, just monthly within the contract price, instead of in one go.

If you renew every 2 years and your contract is £20 pm, then that 'free' phone has probably cost you about £300.

MrsJBaptiste · 02/06/2019 10:09

Not really Tapas some people get excited about shopping / cooking / eating food whereas some of us just eat to be able to get on with the next thing.

I don't dislike food, I just hate cooking so want the whole thing over and done with.

Crankybitch · 02/06/2019 10:57

Thought of another one - I won’t buy fancy water at a restaurant. Tap water is fine and leaves more money to spend on the food / wine. Also think it’s ridiculous to transport bottled water - so bad for the environment.

Pinkvoid · 02/06/2019 11:00

Expensive designer clothing, especially for children. I cannot fathom people who waste money on extortionate clothing for babies and children. They outgrow them in no time and inevitably ruin them anyway.

Agreed with personalised number plates, I think they’re crass.

I don’t wear jewellery so that too.

I have an iPad, MacBook and iPhone but never ever understood the purpose of the watch.

Pinkvoid · 02/06/2019 11:01

hoppity

People don’t like being tied down to a contract and you actually wind up paying more for the handset with a contract.

Daenerys77 · 02/06/2019 11:05

You had me at 'tattoos' MitziK

TapasForTwo · 02/06/2019 11:09

I agree Pinkvoid. We always buy reconditioned phones and shop around for SIM cards. I currently pay £6 a month for my SIM card (I'm with PlusNet)

Bloodybridget · 02/06/2019 11:35

I love having flowers in the house, they give me so much pleasure. Often pick up a cheap bunch of daffs or tulips at the supermarket. Very mean/parsimonious about most things, and have no desire whatsoever for designer anything, beauty treatments or jewellery. I do pay £50 for a haircut, but that doesn't seem excessive in London now.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 02/06/2019 17:51

I'm not into jewellery, generally - I wear my wedding ring, a ring Dh gave me on our silver wedding and another ring on my other hand. I have a few pairs of earrings, none putthem expensive (all under £30) and a couple of cheap but pretty necklaces. Can't see me suddenly wanting diamonds! However, I am a sicker for a nice watch. Not necessarily hugely expensive - my most expensive one was under £200 bit I love it and it's suitable for daily wear as well as occasions. I would probably buy another couple from the same manufacturers, in different styles.

Elphame · 02/06/2019 17:54

Anything from Nestle or one of the companies it owns
