Can we just take a moment to appreciate the life-affirming beauty that is The Repair Shop?

It just made me cry again, with Mouse the elephant and his peanut.

Just a lovely show, with lovely people and a brilliant message - mend, don’t replace.

Any other fans?

I love this programme I have recorded them to keep, it reminds me of my dad, now passed, who repaired everything he could rather than buy new. He was very practical so the repairs were always good. It makes me feel sad in a happy way thinking of him when I watch it.

It’s so bittersweet, and I love the way you see the inner child pop out of older people when they see their toys as they remember them. So sweet.

I saw a man in his 80s say, when faced with his boyhood fire engine in full working order, “can I play with it?”. Lovely.

It’s a beautiful program.

Required viewing in this house.

Brilliant, isn't it? No ridiculous faux competition element. Just nice people using their skills to make other people happy. I love the ceramics/art restorer lady the best.

Robinthecaveman · 25/05/2019 19:45

It’s so lovely. Just heartwarming in every way. It’s a vastly underrated programme imo.

I like Will the wood lad. So young and so talented and modest.

There were a panda and a threadbare bear recently too

chemenger · 25/05/2019 19:53

I love it, so relaxing to watch and such beautiful craftsmanship (and the female equivalent). I would love to be as skilled as the restorers.

AliasGrape · 25/05/2019 19:55

I love it, it’s so soothing and just lovely.

vintagechick43 · 25/05/2019 19:57

MyGastIsFlabbered · 25/05/2019 20:05

What is this program? I've never heard of it. When is it on?

UselessTrees · 25/05/2019 20:12

It's on BBC1, usually just before Pointless on weekdays.

Pinkarsedfly · 25/05/2019 20:29

You’re in for a treat, MyGast

I love it. And it is filmed in one of my favourite places in the world, which is a bonus.

Pinkarsedfly · 25/05/2019 21:19

I had a google to see where it was filmed earlier on, Perspicacia. It’s a bit far from me, sadly, but I’d love to visit one day, it looks great.

I too adore this programme. Gentle, heart lifting viewing. I have a very soft spot for Will too but all of the experts are so talented.

thewooster · 26/05/2019 10:54

I love this show especially the teddy bear ladies - would love their job.

iklboo · 26/05/2019 11:03

Love this programme. We watch it before bed as a gentle wind-down. Very, very talented people there.

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 26/05/2019 11:14

Love this too. I have it on in the kitchen while cooking so I can blame the onions 😭

BelindasGleeTeam · 26/05/2019 11:16

The rocking horse one had me in bits...

Quintella · 26/05/2019 17:30

Makes me blub. A paean to craftsmanship and treasured memories.

Quintella · 26/05/2019 17:34

I've just cried over a papier-mâché cat. I don't even like cats. Grin

Clutterbugsmum · 26/05/2019 17:42

Mine favorite one is where a man bought in a batter little writing desk, which he had found documents where he found out his sister was actually his mother. It was so precious to him and Will made the desk beautiful.
