It just made me cry again, with Mouse the elephant and his peanut.

Just a lovely show, with lovely people and a brilliant message - mend, don’t replace.

Any other fans?

The violin story made me sob.

The violin!Sad

The Repair Shop is an absolute gem of a programme and it's available on catch up if you havent seen it, or BBC1 Mon-Fri 4.30-5.15.

It’s beautiful tv.

We love Will.

Saw it for the first time today! Hadn't heard of it before, it was a really fascinating watch.

Ocies · 26/05/2019 18:25

It’s popular in this house too. Did anyone see the Christmas one where the experts did a secret Santa and all made things for each other, it was so lovely!

I just love the commentator. He reminds me of growing up in the 50s when every radio voice sounded like his. You feel safe and happy. Smile

It’s a wonderful programme. All the craftspeople on it are so very. Dry talented. Suzy the leather lady is the sister of Steve the watch man I discovered.

springgreensunshine · 26/05/2019 18:39

Love it so much.

There was one episode where Will commented on Steve's screwdriver. Steve said it had belonged to his grandfather and when he used it was just like holding his grandfather's hand. Oh that brought a lump to my throat.

Are the soft toy ladies sisters do you think?

AJPTaylor · 26/05/2019 18:59

I only found this last week. Series linked it and now come home to a new one every night. It is just lovely.

Pinkarsedfly · 26/05/2019 19:15

Ocie that was the first one I ever saw and it completely hooked me.

The recipient’s face when he received the scarf that (I think) Will knitted for him made me cry. Just lovely.

The narrator is Robert Pugh from GoT. Other end of the scale, telly-wise, really.

Record it every day and watch it while I'm having my dinner. It's lovely. Love the one who does all the wood stuff.....

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 26/05/2019 21:07

Will is my secret crush.

I am agog at the skill and craftsmanship of the people who do the work and it’s filmed at the Weald and Downland Museum in Singleton near Goodwood, so very local to us.

I really hope those skills are being passed on to others. It’s wonderful to see those treasured items brought back to life.

Not sure Jay does a great deal except sweep. It’s such a gentle programme and required viewing in this house.

TheRLodger · 26/05/2019 21:12

I love it. It’s so soothing and calming after a long day at work. I particularly love the stories that go with the items and the respect they pay to them. And the skills and knowledge the craftspeople have is amazing. Such a shame that many are dying arts although it is encouraging to see a few younger people mend things too

FadedRed · 26/05/2019 21:19

Love seeing the skills and craftsmanship (should that be craftspersonship?) of the people, especially Will, Steve, the leather lady and the teddy bear ladies.
But, sorry to say, IMO it’s getting overly mawkish and sentimental, too much asking about “How does this make you feel?”, where the first series didn’t keep asking. And why isJay Blades in there? He adds nothing to the programme.
