And the mountains of cake in the afternoon
And the morning. If you time it right in a hotel aimed at German people, you can have a very leisurely breakfast followed by coffee and cake for elevenses.
We found Paguera by accident on a Mallorcan holiday. We had been to Andrax, which is where a Scottish farmer who moved to Mallorca and wrote several books about the experience (Peter Kerr, which I really recommend) and then we went to Port Andrax, which was a little too expensive Yacht Club for us so we dropped into Paguera on the way back to Palma.
It's a lovely resort, and again, almost all the tourists who visit there are German, but families and couples not rowdy drunks. There are 3 lovely beaches, a nice promenade with a fantastic mish mash of German/Spanish restaurants and a naice Booths style supermarket.
We liked it so much we've been back there for 2 holidays and the last one was during some football tournamet where England was knocked out early as usual and Germany did better and despite neither of us really being into football I remember watching the football with dozens of Germans in a really friendly chilled atmosphere and joining in all the cheering and hugging when Germany won.
And the hotel was beautiful, as was the food and pool, and yes there was lots of cake on the breakfast/brunch buffet.
OP it sounds like your mistake has been going to 'Magaluf for Germans' not the German people in particular. Was there no conversation about what sort of holiday you wanted? That would be the point of using a travel agent after all.
